Auditions for Harry Potter Movies

Audition News!!!
Looks like casting is getting under way for the third movie!
The (new!) casting director for HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN is named Jina Jay, whose work includes the 2001 Nicole Kidman flick, Birthday Girl, and 2000's Oscar-nominated Billy Elliot (in which Julie Walters, a.k.a. Molly Weasley, starred and received a nomination for an Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. She was favored by many to win, but Pollock's Marcia Gay Harden went home with the prize). Send casting queries to:
Jina Jay
Leavesden Studio
P.O. Box 322
Watford, England

Good luck - and remember - if the future Cho Chang or Cedric Diggory is hiding in our audience, you just remember who gave you this info. :-)
Note: This is the real casting director of PoA and this is the right address! check this out->http://www2.warnerbros.com/web/newsletter/gateway/sample.jsp?nlID=HARRYPOTTER:newsletter
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- According to Newsround (a very reliable source), there is a new casting address! They haven't casted anyone (including Cho) for Prisoner of Azkaban yet but they are on the lookout! Apparently, Warner Bros. aren't making any promises.
Good luck! This is the article from Newsround:
New casting office for Azkaban
You could be a Slytherin!
Thousands of Harry Potter fans would give their Nimbus 2000 to be in any of the films.
And Newsround's Lizo has exclusively revealed news, straight from the film set, about a new casting office for The Prisoner of Azkaban.
The film bosses are not actually launching a big search for new kids to play roles.
Director Chris Columbus chats with Daniel Radcliffe
But that doesn't stop loads of you bombarding the Newsround and the Leavesden Studio mailboxes pleading for a chance to audition for spare parts.
So they have given out the only address of a brand new casting office you can write to.
No other address!
But don't get your hopes up too much. They are not promising budding actors and actresses anything.
They just want to give you a proper address to write to if you are determined to be characters like Cho Chang or Cedric Diggory.
Remember! Leavesden Studios don't want you to phone, write or fax to any other address you might have heard about - this one only!
Send a short letter and a recent photograph to:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Warner Bros. has stated the following:
- You must be a British resident to get a role.
- The parts of Cedric Diggory, Cho Chang, etc. are not going to be open casting auditions, the casting director has decided to go through casting agencies instead, which means that you must have an agent and a lot of acting experience in order to audition.
- In addition, people who are seriously considering doing an audition should firstly have a good CV and lots of good experience. they'll also need a cover letter, full length photo (preferably professional), and a good head and shoulders photo.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Karen Lindsey-Stewart is apparently NOT responsible for the casting of Movie 3, but here is her address and number:
Karen Lindsay-Stewart
P.O. Box 2301
Harry Potter Production
London United Kingdom
W1A 1PT
Telephone (Office): 020 7439 0544
Fax: 020 7439 0548
If you have heard about Susie Figgs being the casting director- SHE IS NOT, so don't waste your time by sending your packages to her! (She was one, but left after disagreements about the role of Harry Potter.)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Character parts that needs casting:
Remus Lupin (Hogwarts Teacher)
Sirius Black (Harry's Godfather) - this one I believe they already have finalists.
Peter Pettigrew (Wormtail)
Sibyll Trelawney (Hogwarts Teacher)
Cho Chang (Ravenclaw Student)
Cedric Diggory (Hufflepuff Student)
Madam Rosmerta (Three Broomsticks Innkeeper)
Walden Macnair (Buckneak's Executioneer)
Marjorie Dursley (Aunt Marge)
Sir Cadogan (Hogwarts Frameguy)
Stan Shunpike (Knight Bus)
Ernie Prang (Knight Bus)
Madam Marsh (Knight Bus)
Dumbledore (Hogwarts Headmaster)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's a list of things you need and the addresses to send it to. Make sure you send your packages during May/June. Some websites suggest to send them during May, but it's up to you when you want to send them. They also suggest to send the tapes in a few months later, because they've read on the boards that they let you audition and then they see your tapes. Also, remember that you don't have to be from England to audition, but that depends on the part you want to get.
NOTE: Since not everything here in 100% sure, so don’t base your entire resume on the information that you’ve found here. I am not in any way associated with Lindsay-Stewart or Warner Brothers industries. I am just passing through some of the information I found when I was surfing the internet.
What do you send?
Send the following info to the address above:
I. A letter stating why you want this part and why you should get it.
II. A resume that consists of the below:
Height
Weight
Eye colour
Hair colour
Scars
Age
Location
Date of Birth
Previous experience [if any]
Your experience doesn't have to consist out of acting alone. It can be singing, modeling, public speaking etc.
Photos of yourself
Professional headshots would be great, but you don't have to have them. Plus, they cost money, and if you can't afford them, don't do it. Make sure you have a shot of your head & a 3/4 body shot.
A tape [not necessary, but if you do send one, below are some things you should say when the camera is rolling]:
- Your name
- Your age
- Your country
- Your experience
- The part you want to audition for
- Read a passage. Some ideas you can use for reading:
Read with a British accent.
A good way to start a British accent is watch movies that have British accents. Pay close attention to the dialogue they use, and how they pronounce their vowels. Listen to songs by British bands. I prefer to listen to Coldplay. You can really here the accent in their music, and plus they have fantastic songs! I suggest you download, "Trouble" and "Yellow."
Read a passage from the Harry Potter books. Speak clearly and put expression in it.
Act out a scene from the books. Don't look into the camera and use expression.
Act out or read a scene from another book.
Read a monologue from a play.
Sing a song, or read a poem you've written about why you want this particular part.
* Remember, a tape is not needed, and it is advised not to be sent because security may confiscate it! But if you wish, try sending it after sending in you resume and pictures!
Please note: it is highly unlikely that you can get a named part in Harry Potter without having an agent. Most casting directors don't even look at pictures or videos that have not been sent by professional agencies. There is a chance, but it is highly unlikely.
