Innate Ability - Mentats have the ability to make any suggestion seem incredibly convincing by enunciation particular vowels and consonants in their speech. Powerful Mentats have been known to convince even the most clairvoyant to leap to their death. Paul is an incredibly powerful word warper. Unless his target doesn't understand basic, is completely deafened, or can decipher the coded highs and lows in Paul's speech, the target may agree with any made suggestion and follow it at his own will. - |
Innate Ability - Mentat Assassins must be endurant, strong, nimble, quick, and well experienced in the use of their own body. Paul studied the art of Rigidus, an ancient Mentat Ability that makes the body like steel for brief periods of time. This ability also affects his strength. For a short duration Paul can make his body incredibly rigid, which gives him the supernatural ability to resist deadly impacts, and also to lift, brace, or support incredible weights by locking key joints and excercising overdeveloped tendons. Innate Ability - A Mentat's most formidable ability is his keen sense of ambiguous stimuli. Harmless changes in air pressure, temperature, shifting sound waves, static charges, and magnetic field changes can be detected, deciphered, and translated into instinctive reactions. The result is a reaction time that rivals that of first generation Vampires. In a sense, Mentat's can see things coming at them seconds before they ever make contact, making their initiative immeasurable. It has long been a valid belief that it's impossible to catch a Mentat off guard, nor is it very likely that a Mentat Assassin can be defeated in close range combat. - |
