OVERVIEW

After leaving St. Gregory's Grammar school & graduating at Stockport College I have been involved for many years in Civil/Structural, Piping & CAD Engineering in a variety of fields, Power, Chemical, Petrochemical, Mining, etc. I have performed assignments ranging from Engineering design/detailing, Building, Architectural, Steel, Concrete, Piping and UG Piping to coordinating, supervising and providing design calculations for designers at Rand Mines to managing the Project Automation Technologies (PAT) group for Hatch in South Africa.

Since 1988, I have been involved with CAD Engineering, Application support Integration and Management, mostly in the Oil and Gas industry using Autodesk, Intergraph, PDMS & Bentley Systems. Over the last 30 years I have developed my skills at Fluor Daniel, WorleyParsons, Badgers, Raytheon, Foster Wheeler, Anglo American, ABB Lummus Global, Parsons & Hatch on major projects, all increasing in responsibility & in Scope. For the past 26 years I have specialized in Microstation, AutoCAD & PDS Frameworks, I established a set of drawing office CAD standards for the above mentioned companies & customized the GUI’s on each project using the latest software from Bentley & Autodesk as the lead Administrator.

I have trained people on 2D & 3D & then provided support & Supervision for the remainder of the projects. I completed courses on Piping Modeler whilst at Fluor in South Africa, Modeldraft, Frameworks Plus & Siteworks whilst at RE & C (Badgers) in Holland, I completed Designer & Basic Administration courses on SmartPlant 3D whilst at Hatch in Australia.

In the last 16 years I have been employed by WorleyParsons/Fluor Daniel (JV) as the Civil/Structural Discipline Application Specialist, Trainer & Senior Design Supervisor in Atyrau/Brentford on the Tengiz SGP Utilities Project & the AGIP Kashagan Project using PDS frameworks plus & Microstation v7/v8i. I was then reassigned to PFD in Atyrau  Kazakhstan. I joined HATCH Australia in 2005 as a general PDS/SP3D Administrator & writing new builds for Frameworks Plus, was transferred to South Africa in 2007 as the Hub practice Lead for PAT, (IT Manager-Applications for Africa). Was employed by WPK in Atyrau, Kazakhstan as Engineering Design Systems Coordinator (PIM) and then WP in London. I was also employed by WPK as the CSA Design Lead/Discipline Application Specialist on the SGE CAR Project. I have just finished in Almaty as the CSA Design Lead/DAS for Buildings on the TCO Future Growth Project.

My career has been progressive in a supervisory and a managerial capacity, I have a BSc Hons in IT and Management, I am a Chartered IT Professional, a Member of the British Computer Society & Fellow of the Institution of Analysts and Programmers, I am currently studying for my MSc in "Systems Thinking in Practice" (Have put this on Temporary Hold after gaining my first Post Grad Certificate).
