Helena Javornik from Slovenia was the best woman with 2:27:33, followed by Emily Kimuria from Kenya (2:29:46) and Tigiste Abidi from Ethiopia (2:33:26).
The ING Amsterdam not only set a course record, but the number of 16.000 participants was also a lot more than the record of 11.758 in 2003.
Amsterdam is still number four on the world?s list of fastest marathon cities.
