* POISEN IVY * Born in Amsterdam, (NL) and raised on the beautiful island of Aruba Poisen Ivy has many musical influences. She started out singing profesionally when she
was twelve years old, competing in Aruba's youth Calypso & Roadmarch contest back in 1995.
She went on to compete in that festival for five years with much success which was the
beginning of her career as a performing artist.

At the age of seventeen Poisen Ivy left the island of
Aruba to take her chances in a bigger country, Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Coming to Amsterdam as a singer she soon learnt that it takes much more than
just a singer to make it in the business, to stand out from the rest so she
added rapping to her credentials.
Her cousin, a producer and rapper, thought
her all there is to know about the Hip hop world and groomed her rapping skills.
She formed a group together with her cousin and they called themselves' the Egotrippers'.
They performed everywhere they could in Holland for two years but went their seperate ways in 2003. www.egotrippers.nl
After performing for a year the name Poisen Ivy became well known on the streets and in
december 2004 she took part in a campaign about the dangers of fireworks that released a
video clip for the single that was recorded for that campaign with 10 MC's including Poisen Ivy.

This was a wonderful opportunity for exposure and opened a few doors for her in Holland.
