The international hard-rock group TNT definitely had their moments. But after 5 albums, chart-in in USA, Europe and Japan,
and several big tours, the ending came. At the end of a successfull Japan-tour in 1992, the rock dream TNT was ended. But
the Norwegian part of the band had their plans. And in autumn of the year, a new band was born; VAGABOND. Guitarist RONNI
LE TEKRØ and bassist MORTY BLACK would make things different this time. In VAGABOND, there is only one rule: "No Rules!".
There were 3 seats for other members. Drummer STEINAR KROKSTAD was persuated to report a transition from his seat in STAGE
DOLLS. Keyboardist DAG STOKKE was promoted from a session musician in TNT to permanent seat in VAGABOND. The last member
is less known, but not least exciting. JØRN LANDE, whom the band would call him "an unknown quantity from Rjukan" took real
breath away from his music partners in the future when he improvised freely during his audition for the band.
"We didn´t know where we were on the way during the first session", RONNI tells, "We had some songs and improvised notes
around them". VAGABOND´s repertory is mostly written by RONNI and JØRN, but every member has their influence and meaning for
the result. "Our musical roots are apparent obviously enough". "You can hear sympho-rock like QUEEN, DEEP PURPLE, but also
pop-music and Norwegian folk music´s beat", RONNI adds.
After TNT, it was very important for the band to point out the new direction. They felt a necessity to resign from the world,
to made it able to concentrate wholly on music. The band owns their own studio "STUDIO STUDIO" in the woods in Toten, Norway.
Their 1st album "VAGABOND"´s music is structured and improvised, sensitive and tough, melodious and hard as bone, competent
and abondoned. It holds very many workings that it can be very difficult to follow at the first listening though.
