UPDATES

Further to Melissa's post about PREVIEW

 WWW.HPANA.COM [5:28:41 PM]

I have the issue here in front of me. There really is a blurb on page 402, but we don't want to post it as truth until we've confirmed with the editors that they obtained it from a legitimate source (i.e. Scholastic, Bloomsbury or at least Warner Brothers). PREVIEW is a well respected publication in the comic book trade, and they have longstanding relationships with many people at WB because of their coverage of the SUPERMAN and BATMAN properties, among other things, but that doesn't mean we can[...]

Why the magic of Harry Potter transcends all ages

 WWW.HPANA.COM [5:28:41 PM]

Some adults get hooked on "Harry Potter" through children they know: The kid loves the book, introduces it to a parent or aunt, and an adult fan is born. In my case, it was my mom. In a field that was dominated in my youth by formulaic and manipulative horror series, as well as aging mystery series, "Harry Potter" is refreshing evidence that children's novels can be entertaining and deftly crafted.

Another OotP summary?

 WWW.HPANA.COM [5:28:41 PM]

Another summary has surfaced, in April's Diamond Comics preview book. Todd sent us a scan, and I called a random comic store and pestered a clerk until he opened the book and read me the summary on the specified page. This is indeed in that book. More info on an HP ad. But. We have a strong suspicion that this is disinformation, so I've taken the info down until we get it confirmed. When we do, we'll post it.

What IS Dumbledore going to tell Harry?

 WWW.HPANA.COM [5:28:41 PM]

That's what the Cincinnati Enquirer wanted to know, and they held a contest to find the best theories. The results can be found here. Some of them are quite far-fetched! Thanks to TLC for the heads-up.

Gandalf spotted in portrait in Dumbledore's Office

 WWW.HPANA.COM [5:28:41 PM]

Next time you watch the second movie, keep an eye out for this: The portraits in Dumbledore's study represent the past headmasters of Hogwarts. As Harry enters the study for the first time in Chamber of Secrets, we can see a portrait of our very own Gandalf the Grey included in the collection of paintings! (Chapter 19 on the DVD: It is just above the doorframe) Thanks to Gavin and TheOneRing.net for the tip.

First staff review of CoS DVD up

 WWW.HPANA.COM [5:28:41 PM]

I just made a late-night update, adding our first staff review of the CoS DVD (the first disc), which you can read here! I'll also be adding reviews of the second disc later this weekend. And once you've finished watching the movie yourself, you can write your own review and post it in our forums! Enjoy!

Transcript of JKR & Kloves interview is up

 WWW.HPANA.COM [5:28:41 PM]

Eric of MuggleNet spent time at his keyboard today and transcribed the interview that Newsround's Lizo conducted with JKR and screenwriter Steve Kloves, which appears on the DVD. We've seen some quotes before, like the one about the diary being similar to an internet chatroom, but there are some interesting comments about the books and the script for PoA there as well. As we understand it, the interview was conducted late last year, which is why there are references to not having started filming[...]

DVD interview w/JKR and Steve Kloves

 WWW.HPANA.COM [5:28:41 PM]

The official site has uploaded another CoS DVD Deleted Scene (Lucius Liquidates). Screen caps can be found here. Lastly, we've uploaded the transcript of the Steve Kloves/JK Rowling interview from the DVD. We can thank Eric for writing it.

What comes after the quote

 WWW.HPANA.COM [5:28:41 PM]

The Cincinnati Enquirer has announced the winners of their recent contest, in which fans sent in their ideas on what Dumbledore says next after one of the teaser quotes from Book 5. Thanks to Leaky.
