The Fish

Colin just got his gar. It is 10 inches long and don't let people tell you the gar only gets 2 feet long. Its more like 4-5. It does well in a tnak with semi agressive and agressive fish. If it can fit in its mouth it is then considered edible. So tetre and molly people don't get this fish. If you going to have fish get real ones like cichlids. When it opens its mouth it looks scary with is 60 plus teeth but it is very calm when little. when it gets over the 20 inch mark watch out ibecase if it can't defend it self then get rid of it.Arowanas are a very compatable tank mate along with stingrays. They are big but not bad. the Oscar in what ever species is a calm and docile for the most part fish. They can be aggressive but are for the most part not. If it can fit in its mouth its food. Justins and most others can be trained to be feed by hand. The oscar gets about 12- 14 inches long and produces large amounts of waste. Good Filter and regular water changes are required.

Mikes breeding pair of dempseys hasn't breed yet but were hopeing the ydo soon. The dempsey is a south american cichlid that gets between 8 and 10 inches long. They are a agressive cichlid and should not be kept with small fish. Most of the time the dempseys are calm but they can get ruff to a new commer. The only fish that i have seen stand up to a dempseys is a texas and a jagur cichlid. If you want a colorful fish that tears apart a gold fish this is the fish for you.
