Books are one of the "oldest" forms for Fantasy and Sci-fi. Within this media, you'll find the best works of fantasy and sci-fi ever made. They are truly an inspiration to body, mind and soul.

As in the games-section, we try not to spoil the plot too much, but we will warn you if there are any paragraphs to be aware of - or not, in this case. Spoilertext will be of the white kind, so all you do is mark it to see it. Try it out:

Terry Goodkind 
[picture] Terry Goodkind is an author who lives in the US together with his wife, Jeri. He is the creator of the series the Sword of Truth*, an epic Fantasy that provides satisfactory dealings with plots and deep characters. Not an author one should dismiss easily. 

Robert Jordan (or. James Oliver Rigney, Jr.) 
[picture] Robert Jordan has written the renown Wheel of Time* series that now consists of 9 installments, his newest being Winters Heart. He has also written other books like the series of Conan and the Fallon trilogy. He has also written one more book called the Cheyenne Raiders.  

J. R. R. Tolkien (John Ronald Reuel)
[picture] Tolkien was the master and founder of the genre Fantasy and his bibliography proves it. He dedicated almost his whole author-life developing Middle-earth, a leading example of a developed fictuous world. His best known books are The Lord of the Rings*, The Silmarillion, The Hobbit and many other stories about Middle-earth.  

J. K. Rowling
[picture] A newer British author, Rowling introduced to the world: Harry Potter*; a boy, a bestseller and already a movie. Was previously a teacher, now she is a fulltime author.  We (presuming you're an avid reader of HP) await the three next books to complete the chain of this fantastic series.

Terry Pratchett
[picture] Pratchett is known for his famous Discworld novels - a long string of funny and witty stories about the happenings of Discworld and its inhabitants. He has written about Rincewind the failed wizard, Nanny Ogg the witch, Death and his daughter plus many more.

Terry Brooks
[picture] Brooks is a legend in Fantasy, having been writing Fantasy in over 20 years. He is the author of the famous Sword of Shannara series, and has newly begun a new series - The Jerle Shannara.  

Melanie Rawn
[picture] Author of the best selling trilogies Dragon Prince, Dragon Star and Exiles*. She writes exquisite political Fantasy, hiding many layers of honor and deceit, as well as building complicated heritages and social statuses.

Frank Herbert
[picture] One of the later pioneers of Science Fiction. He has written many magnificent series, but most renown for Dune* - a classic tale within the genre of Sci-Fi.
