I had considered doing a genie movie for some time and finally got around to doing it. For the video, I used the song "Missing" by Arcadia. For those of you who don't know, Arcadia was a one shot recording involving several members of Duran Duran with guest appearances by Sting and Grace Jones back in the 80s. Simon Le Bon was the lead singer.

The film begins with a little boy finding an old lamp sitting on a dresser. He takes it and starts to shine it up. Suddenly, Hassan the genie appears. Hassan gives the little boy three wishes.

For the first wish, the little boy wants something to eat because he is hungry. Hassan gives him a bowl of fresh fruit.

For the second wish, the little boy wants some new video games, so Hassan grants this wish.

Finally, on the third wish, the little boy whispers in the genie's ear and before you know it, they are on a magic carpet ride.

To do this, we put a carpet on top of a board supported by bricks, and tied string on the four corners to support the carpet and make it look like it was levitating. We hid a fan in the background to blow on the carpet, giving it a flying effect.

This was my one and only portrayal of Hassan the Genie.
