September 12, 2002- So September 11th has come and gone. I'm still not following why it wasn't made a national day of rememberance. I mean I real one. One you observe out of school, IE: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Martin Luther King Jr.'s B-day even. I mean, this is now the apex of the year. I mean, take Thanksgiving. It's supposed to honor the first dinner between the Pilgrims and the Indians. Great that was over 400 years ago. That's in the past. How do we commemorate that? We stuck our hand up a turkey's ass, rip out all of its insides and then eat it. Christmas, well Christmas has totally lost it's meaning. No longer do we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, instead we give each other gifts and then get upset because of how shitty they are. Perhaps if they called it Jesus' Day then it would still have it's meaning. Or Christ Day...but no, they stuck Mas on the end of it, and it lost it's meaning. What does mas mean anyway? "More" in Spanish. Right? I say screw Thanksgiving, give us a Rememberance Day, still allow the kids a day off of school, 2 if you're feeling generous and call it a done deal.

Yesterday I went to Wal*Mart...guys I've gained some respect for them. I walked in and they gave me a cute little flag and as I made my way to the electronics department, they were singing "America The Beautiful", I was like "Aww that's so sweet" I was going to cry. And on the loud speaker, the names were being read. Isn't that sweet? Guess what Target did? Not a damn thing. They didn't even have a flag on top of a pole. Boo For Target. My favorite store, I'm unimpressed.
