1 Year Anniversary

This is a poem written by me (Sheara) for the group on one of our anniversaries. I think that it explains itself.

A smile, a laugh
A cheer for a friendship
Against the darkness and shadows
Six sisters
Withstanding the flood
The strife, the anger
A grin for each of us,
For the steps we've taken
For the laughs we've given
For the darkness we've banished.

Here's one for Sara
The self chosen listener
Arranger of words
The cellist of deep spoken silence
Pen bleeding on a tear blotted paper
The 'meddler', brown and gold
Smile ready, laughing quick.

Here's one for Susan,
the viola goddess
The silent and hidden
Fingers forming faces
With eyes full of feeling
Lips sealed against sound
But laughing words splashing out.

And another for Linza
The guardian spirit
The fighter, the black clad
The wary seeker of fire
Strong anger, strong love
Staunch as steel, staring back
Laughing heart sheilded by chainmail.

Here's one for Lindsay
The artist encircled by chains of gold
To whom dragons speak
The haunted, the once lonely
Wild with laughter
Poised, ready for danger
Grin wide, hands held out.

And another for Kendal
The dancer and laugher
Torn but yet whole
Straddling two worlds, full of gaiety
The poet whose whispered wisdom
Spills like blood from between cracked lips
Laughter sparkling gold in the sun.

Here's one for Gina
The amiable talker
Tears flowing from red-smudged eyes
Singing in the silence
Strange tongue rolling forth
Splattered onto paper in dark pools of ink,
Dancing for the bright tomorrow.

And last one for us all
The hidden in shadows
Steadfast
Eyes fixed on the unseen
Hearts cut and healed,
Bonds slowly being freed
Laughter echoes where feet have fallen.
