	The City of Valley continues to grow with the times. Commercial as well as residential lots are being plotted on a daily basis. The City recognizes the magnitude of growth and welcomes you to all of its resources. The City of Valley has adopted and is enforcing the following construction codes: 2003 International Building Code 2003 International Residential Code 2003 International Mechanical Code 2003 International Plumbing Code 2002 National Electric Code 2003 International Energy Conservation Code 2003 International Property Maintenance Code The purpose of these codes is to establish the minimum requirements to safeguard the public health, safety, and general welfare through structural strength, means of egress facilities, stability, sanitation, adequate light ventilation, energy conservation, and safety to life and property from fire and other hazards attributed to the built environment. All contractors working within the City of Valley zoning jurisdiction shall be registered and licensed with the City and show proof of liability insurance. The City of Valley recognizes submission of a copy of the applicant's current City of Omaha certificate of competency or the City of Bellevue, City of Fremont, City of Elkhorn, or the City of Council Bluffs.
