Welcome to Women Who Believe and our Celebration
of
ONE YEAR
on the net. :)
To start off with we would like to thank our
Head Graphics Designer Hope for designing our winning
Graphics Webset in a contest we held just for this special occasion.
In the pages that follow you will see some wonderful designs
that our Graphics Committee has done for our Anniversary pages. :)
WWB was formed one year ago on April 27th 2001.
It was opened with alot of patience and a dream of becoming
a wonderful place where the members would feel at home.
A place they could be themselves without judgement, with fairness
and without prejudice.
It was designed to allow women from all walks of life a place
she can work on her self confidence, build friendships and most of all,
a place that she could believe in herself.
As the founder of Women Who Believe I have seen all this happen.
Through trials of friendships, pateince and endurance I have seen
WWB become what I set out for it to become. A home away from home
for close to 300 wonderful and outstanding women form all over the world.
As we celebrate our first anniversary with fun, games and activities
we look at what we have accomplished since joining.
We look at how being a member of this goup has changed
our lives. We reflect on the friendships we have made and we marvel at
the women we now consider *family*.
We are:
Women who care,
Women who love,
Women who share.
We are:
Women Who Believe.
Before we show you what our activities are and what we have planned
I would like to share with you a letter we recieved from a Honored Member.
Leanne was a member of the WWB for some time and just recently
had to leave for personal reasons. We all hope to see her in the WWB
again soon but her parting email has touched us all.
This is what Leanne has said about Women Who Believe.

All I can really say about how WWB affected my life is that on some days it's been part of my survival kit. Especially on days when I felt vulnerable.

What did I find it in when I came to the ladies of WWB..........
I found a sense of the absurd for one thing. That saved me from a lot of tears I might have shed over something sad....instead I spent them laughing at some absurd thing or other I read on the group mail. Without it life is serious and a catastrophe. With it you start to laugh and forget to be too grim.
A sense of worth was in there too. Without that, none of us survive.
And also a silly sense of excitement now and again. I'm perpetually five years old and when I see things that others have done, I get this feeling of pleasure for them having accomplished what they tried to achieve. It kept me from being blase.
You have to willing to show and tell people that you care...to expose yourself a little, to try out your ideas and talents. I saw so much of that in WWB.
There's a lot more things in my own personal survival kit that I see in some of the others too. Curiousity as we learn new things, perspective as we help each other learn. Oh and don't forget discipline. We have plenty of the kind to get things
done. But there is another kind......the discipline to not do things, to not
say things, the discipline of restraint. There is a lot of that as well in WWB.
Each and every member of this group has provided a little bit of those to me and my kit. What more could I ever ask for in friends?
Thank you Women Who Believe. Just keep on being who you are, they way you are. Then when I can come back, I won't be a stranger in a new group. I'll be coming home.

Today marks the first Anniversary for Women Who Believe.
An internet group for Women of all kinds.
I am a very proud member of this group and have been since the
day I joined.
I was one of the first members to join Women Who Believe.
Paula and I became friends in another group that had closed about 2 years ago....
and she mentioned to me that she was starting a group of her own.
So I immediately joined.
I have had the opportunity to get to know and become friends
with many women from the group. They, like I, joined the group
all searching for the same things.
A group where they can feel welcomed, and not be afraid to welcome someone else.
A place they can feel like themselves, feel apart of a group and meet
many wonderful ladies, of all different ages, race and beliefs.
A place they can visit friends everyday... not just because they have
to so they abide by the rules of the group, but because they want to.
To make each other laugh everyday....or lend an ear to someone who is
in need of support is what friendship is all about.
I have met 3 very special ladies in this group that I truly call my bestfriends, my sisters.
They have made my life complete. Not a day goes by, when I don't think of them.
I have also met some pretty terrific women from around this world who I am honoured to have as my friends.
There is nothing in the world like finding that "perfect" friendship.
Friends are always there for one another, for support, for laughter, for life.
I'd like to wish everyone in Women Who Believe a Happy First Anniversary. and I'd like to Thank Paula,
for creating such a wonderful group which I call my second home.

Ok, *clears throat*
I would like to take this moment to thank each and every single one of the
amazing women in WWB for helping us celebrate
a very special thing.
The 1st Anniversary of WWB. Each one of you ladies have brought
something every special and very unique to this group, you've brought yourself!
WWB celebrating it's 1st Anniversary is a HUGE accomplishment.
There are many groups that don't make it this far.
WWB has made it this far because of each and every single one of you!
The love, care, and support you give to this group!
WWB would not have made it this far if it weren't
for each of it's wonderful members! I am deeply honored not only as
Vice President of WWB,
but as a member to have been here to celebrate this very special anniversary with all of
you!

I am looking forward to MANY MANY more

To The Members Of Women Who Believe
In the past year I have made many new friends.
With these new friends I have laughed, cried, worried and rejoiced.
I have found in this past year that real people with loving generous hearts
are at the other end of this line. You all have changed my life.
Our lives touch each others through the Women Who Believe
and I believe that is what makes this group the special and
unique group that it has become!
