So,
the night of the wedding, after Scott got over his motion sickness and was
getting over his cold from the previous week, I got pounded with the cold I had
been fighting off. Hmmm… something to
do with the 60 mph winds?
We
didn’t even venture out of the hotel until Wednesday, and even that was pushing
it for me. We had to scrap some of our
plans – like seeing the Grand Canyon.
So if anyone asks how I lost so much money, it’s because I was too tired
and sick to do anything but sit and feed the slot machines.
Wednesday
we walked, and walked, and walked. We
made it all the way to Treasure Island, stopping to check out many of the
casinos along the way. In total, I’d
say we did about 45 miles that day.
Blister #1.
Thursday
we went to the Palms. We saw a show on
Las Vegas casinos that named all of the best places for various games, and the
Palms was named one of the best for Video Poker and Slots. But we both lost our shirts there too. Honey got me to try a form of Blackjack
(super fun 21) there, and I recovered $20.00!
WooHoo! Unfortunately, it rained
ALL day on Thursday. And blister #2
reared its ugly head.
Friday we went back to Red Rock so Scott could see it without worrying about vomiting, and so we both could see it in daylight. It was absolutely spectacular. And when you walk (or limp) into the park a little way, it is absolutely silent. Very welcome after all the Strip and casino noise. Anyway, the canyon is just fantastic and I hope to revisit it when I have no blisters an can actually do some hiking in there. Lots of pictures of this and many that are similar. Get over it.
