All Palace Guests should be familiar with the Charter & Bylaws for The Palace and for Palace Enterprises. These documents contain the rules by which we operate, including some legal issues and internal policies that affect our Guests. Document links open new windows. Our Palace is based on the Portage Palace BBS and Duane Goldsworthy's original Palace Hotel BBS. We hope to entertain, educate and inform, and, in the process, to provide our Guests with a platform for involvement in critical issues in their community, state and nation. The index of The Palace presented below offers a general idea of what's here. Some areas may not be available or may be "under construction" and subject to frequent change. This means new pages and content are being added.

The Palace was written on a 21 inch monitor. We tried to make the pages self-adjusting, but on a 17 or 15 inch screen (or smaller??), including most laptops, there will be some displacement of page elements. If there's a serious problem on your monitor, please send us a note and we'll try to make adjustments.

We've implemented the new XHTML coding standards throughout our Palace. Members of the Palace Staff must adhere to these standards in developing or modifying pages. We've NOT implemented the Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) standards because we find them problematic for both our page developers and our viewers. We may, at some time in the future, make a serious effort to adopt CSS, at least to a limited degree.
