Milwaukee Humane Society
"The mission
of the Human Society is a community where people value animals and
treat them with respect and kindness."
The Humane Society of Milwaukee has been
up and running since 1879 and has found homes for millions of needy animals.
It provides for the community by taking stray animals off the streets and
giving them a safe place to live. The Milwaukee Humane Society also has a
wildlife rehabilitation center where wild animals can be reintroduced to
their natural habitats. Every year over 135 animals are taken to the wildlife
center and many leave it alive and healthy.
When my family wanted to buy a new pet for
our home, we looked at the Humane Society first. The people there were very
friendly and they made sure that we were the right family for that animal.
There were found our cat, Cheno, and have enjoyed living with her ever since.
Because of the Humane Society's availability and long hours, we were able
to visit our cat on our own time. The Society made it easy for us to give
Cheno a new life, instead of just buying a breeder's cat.
