Hi and welcome back.  I know I've been away for a long time but hopefully I have this up and running now.  Several things have happened to keep me away.  First and foremost, my computer got all messed up and we had to erase the hard drive.  Needless to say, I lost everything on here.  So, I have had to build this site from scratch...again.  Short term memory loss can also affect people of my age too you know.  It ain't so easy remembering how to use this program.

Just to catch everyone up on what's been happening here lately...

My appendix ruptured in early May.  I had emergency surgery to remove it and was in the hospital for several days.  I didn't have the wimpy scope surgery.  I had the whole she-bang!  Huge incision!  I was privy to a morphine pump and Percosets while in the hospital.  Talk about curbing my urge to smoke!  I didn't crave one until I was off the pump and if anything can be said about me and my smoking habit, let it be said that I am nothing less than dedicated.  Great credit goes to the nurses at Waupun Memorial Hospital to have put up with me and my smokeless tantrums.  I was off work for about a month.  Some vacation, huh?  Anyway, I am fine now...doing well. Except for the hand surgery I had last October.  Well, that is doing fine now too.  There isn't much left to repair on me now.  I'm waiting for Russ to start looking for a trade-in, but I'm confident that my value is too low for him to find anything suitable to replace me.

Don and Jeanette are officially married!  The wedding was beautiful.  Go see for yourself!  You can find pictures here.  Congratulations Don and Jeanette!

Russ has changed jobs...kinda.  He was hired on at UPS.  The first day of work, they informed him that they didn't need him yet.  Of course, this was after he had given his two week notice at his job.  He was left to scramble for a temporary job to bide us until UPS needs him.  As of yet, that will be this fall or maybe next spring.  We hope.  UPS offers a great wage and benefit package.  We are staying positive that this will be a beneficial change...in the long run.

In July, we made a surprise visit to Kentucky.  The entire premise was to shock my Mom on her birthday.  With the help of Bill and Charlotte, we were successful.  We drove down on a Thursday night.  By the time we got there, it was Friday morning.  Charlotte had hatched a story of Mom's present arriving late.  Mom bought it.  I'm surprised she survived the incident.  I think she turned a little grayer that day.  We enjoyed our visit with the family, especially Mammaw and Uncle Stan.  There ain't nothing better than a good dose of Mammaw to lift your spirits!

Becky spent the summer traveling with mom and Bill.  They went to Florida, Iowa and Missouri.  I've posted some pictures of her trip...here.    Russell has been working with Don in the lawn care business.  He is making good money and learning an even better lesson about hard work.  Jessica has spent her summer hanging out with friends and attending driving school.  Kaelyn stops by alot.  She grabs a bite to eat or snatches something off my walls to decorate her apartment.

Uncle Bob, Pearls' brother, succumbed to cancer this summer.  He will be greatly missed.  Known as "Dead Eye Bob" for his rapid fire shooting technique, hunting season will never be the same for any of us.  We will miss his "stories".

My deepest sympathy also goes out to the Tom Ware family.  Julia's mother, Vivienne, passed away suddenly this fall.  She will be greatly missed.

Jim, my sister's husband, had a heart attack.  After having two surgeries, he is stable now.  We wish you a speedy recovery Jimmy Boy!

Russ, Jessica, Russell and myself took a one day trip to Door County.  We got there a bit early for cherry season but enjoyed swimming in Lake Michigan and seeing the sights.  We ate at a restaurant called Al Johnson's Swedish restaurant.  The entire roof was covered with grass.  They put goats up there to keep it trimmed.  See pictures from the trip...here.

So, as you can see, it has been a busy year.  I can't believe it's almost Christmas!  Time flies when you're having...FUN?  Wait, forget the time part...where did the "fun" part go?  I must have missed that part.  Sheeeeeeesh...I'm always getting gypped!  Anyway, I will try harder to keep this updated.  I know there are a few of you that like to stop by and relieve your stress by reading about mine.  Make sure you drop me a line so I can relieve MY stress by reading about YOURS!  Have a great November!

Happy Birthday to Bill!  November 28th!
