I started on this project in December of 2002 and finished it in May of 2003. I took it to 5 shows in the summer and fall of 2003. It was quite the attention getter.
It started life as a 8 HP Toro rear engine lawnmower. I rebuilt the engine and used the 5 speed transmission. The axle was used as a jack shaft to drive the rear wheels. The most asked questions are where did you get the idea for it and where do you get parts? The idea came from plans I ordered from the back of a gas engine magazine. The wheels, sprockets, chains and steering parts came from Northern Tool. The buggy seat springs from Whitmore Carriage Shop and the frame from a local steel supply.
