The birth of the Bucks

On January 22,1968 the city of Milwaukee and the state of Wisconsin were awarded a new NBA franchise. The team would be the second ever to play in Milwaukee since the Hawks moved to St. Louis from Milwaukee in 1955-1956. The team was given the name Bucks because "Bucks are spirited, good jumpers, fast and agile." This name was decided by fans who voted for the team name.

Since becoming an expansion team the franchise has enjoyed many successes and disapointments. Here are the season records for every year the team has been in existence:Season-by-season records
