I'm a prisoner in my own mall

Okay, so I don't own the mall, but I really don't feel safe in my favorite mall.  For those of you living in the Milwaukee, WI area, you know what I'm talking about.  Mayfair Mall is the biggest mall in the state.  It has over 180 stores featuring many name brand stores such as J. Crew, Talbots, L'Occitane, Franklin Covey, Williams Sonoma and Barnes and Noble just to name a few.

I used to love shopping there until about September when a bunch of people rioted because a movie was sold out and they weren't able to get in to see it when they wanted to.  Now ordinarily I would just say that this was the stupid people and they should be thrown in jail.  But the trouble doesn't stop there.  Since September, there have been at least six stories that have been on the local news, that I've seen alone, of fights at the mall.  I have tried going there a few times since then and I just don't feel safe.  I see something in a store front as I walk past and quick turn to look to see if I really like and I hear 'What are you looking at?'  Seriously now, I'm a patron, I spend money.  You don't spend money, so get out.

Mayfair Mall needs to sit down and realize that this is the same behavior that ended up forcing the close of Northridge Mall.  Northridge Mall was plagued with gang activity and harassing behavior.  This is the same type of behaviors I am seeing displayed at Mayfair Mall.  I don't like going there because I just don't feel safe...and I know that I'm not alone on this one.  I know several other people who feel the same.  If I know several people who feel that way, then they probably also know several people. 

Join me in writing the management at Mayfair Mall about this growing problem.  Keep in mind that they are a private business and have the right to refuse service to anyone.  Maybe the management needs to start enforcing their right.  Then it will be a better place for me to shop.  I might return.
