Welcome to Kitty Korner. . .

By designing Kitty Korner I hope to be able to teach others what I've learned about cats and kittens, both through my own experience with being a cat owner as well as through reading I've done over the past couple of months. Below are some references I have used to gain my information, both through other sites and books. After you are finished learning through my page I hope you will continue to expand your horizons and continue learning. Cats are amazing and I hope they become as big and wonderful a part of your life as they have mine. I encourage you to explore all areas of the site to learn more about cats and how to take care of them. If you have any questions, please email me at hoffklm@yahoo.com. If I don't have the answer I will try to find it for you, and if I can't I will try to direct you towards someone who will. Thanks for stopping by!

My experience. . .

I received my cat, Sassy, from one of my old roommates. I was not ready for the responsibility at the time, but was naive and didn't know any better. I figured we could just go out and get a litter box and some food and everything would be fine and dandy. She is fine; nothing went particuarly wrong. I just wish I would have known more about cats before I just went out and gotten one, never having had a cat (or any other pet for that matter).

Before I got her I wish I would have known the importance of spaying and neutering. I guess I never really realized how overpopulated the country (and probably whole world) is with cats. They're are tons of cats all over who are euthenized every year because there are too many cats and not enough good homes. Sassy has four cute little babies now, and I am finding good homes for them, I just wish that the other kittens who are living in shelters all over the country had the chance to get a good home too.
