LowRunner's Bunny Hop Tutorial
I am a newbie bunny hopper in CS, so if anyone that reads this can give me advice on finding any key to gaining speed in CS let me know. I know the basics though.
My definition of the Bunny Hop : A type of movement in which you can gain massive amounts of speed using the right keys and mouse and jumping at the right time.
My definition will be updated as I learn the bunnyhop more. I am currently learning it on TFC since I find it easier to learn it there because of the footstep trick which I will mention sometime later.
Note : A mouse wheel is VERY good for bunny hoping, most players use that. I personally use mwheeldown for my bhoping.
The Movement: The skill of Bunny Hop, and yes it is a skill and not a hack. It was built into the engine that the very old school players discovered(may be blind talking here but that's what I've heard) is a continuous series of jumps where you alternate between your strafe keys and mouse movement without holding the forward key(may be better than my definition so far :P). To start a bunny hop, you have a few options. Either run and start it off, do a glide jump to start it off(will be explained.) or start it off from standing still. But note that you can only bunny hop on Bunny Hop Hooked servers. Look for these by going to gametiger.com and looking up bunny hop as a keyword on server search. To do a bunny hop you have to jump, strafe left and move your mouse to the left about 45 degrees and right before you land, switch to the right. Strafe right, move mouse 45 degrees to the right and jump. Your jumping must be timed precisely in order to gain speed. It must be as though you have never touched the ground. If you have TFC this is where it comes in handy. For TFC, you can bunny hop on all servers, not very fast though since there is a speed cap which will slow you down after you go fast enough. If you have TFC but absolutely hate it and really want to learn bunny hop, this is where TFC comes in handy until I get tips for CS bunny hoping. Go onto any server that has footsteps enabled and try to bunny hop. You know your jump timing is correct if as soon as you land and than jump again you hear NO sounds coming from your feet, if you hear sounds, you need to work on your jump timing. All bunny hoping is is a continuos pattern of alternating between strafing left and moving mouse 45 degrees to your left and strafing right and moving mouse 45 degrees to your right while jumping. You alternate right before you hit the ground, jump and continue it. An example of this:
I start out with the jump, strafing left and moving mouse left 45 degrees. Right before I hit the ground, I alternate to the right for strafe and mouse and than jump and holding down my right strafe key and keeping my mouse right 45 degrees and than right before I land I switch over to left again and jump.
Now for the glide jump. For glide jumping, you hold the strafe key(whichever one u please) and than as you move your mouse to where you are strafing you jump and hold forward. For turning this into bhop, do this except don't hold forward and start to bunny hop.
This guide will probably be edited at a later time. If I missed something or you have tips on bunny hoping, e-mail me at dragonmaster885@aol.com
