Welcome to St. Roman's Computer Lab
In November and December we are learning the following things:
K5 is learning the letters of the alphabet and continuing to develop an understanding of how to use the computer in various programs.
Grade 1 is continuing to learn Microsoft Word and Paint, and beginning to learn Microsoft PowerPoint. These programs are used to reinforce what students learn in their classrooms.
Grade 2 is continuing to develop their skills in Microsoft Word, Paint and PowerPoint. They have made Thanksgiving cards and are writing and illustrating a letter to St. Nicholas.
Grade 3 has been reviewing Microsoft PowerPoint. They are learning formatting techniques in PowerPoint and creating a Seasons Poem book. They are also learning how to click between windows, so that they can have more than one document open at a time.
Grade 4 has been reviewing Microsoft PowerPoint. They have begun to learn Microsoft Excel with a few simple projects. They are starting to learn keyboarding and typing. They are learning how to do research on the web using a webquest.
Grade 5 has also been reviewing Microsoft PowerPoint. They have also been using Microsoft Excel and learning to create charts. They are continuing to practice typing skills.
Grade 6 has reviewed PowerPoint witha quick project and are now working on a Webquest on the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Grade 7 has begun working on the website component of their integrated business project. They are learning to make webpages from scratch. Typing and keyboarding skills are practiced at each class session.
Grade 8 is finishing their work on an integrated project with Language Arts. This project utilizes and reinforces their skills in Microsoft Word and Powerpoint. We are continuing weekly practice at keyboarding.
