The Long Patrol
Tammo (actually, Tammello De Fformello Tussock) wants to be in the famed
Long Patrol of Salamandastron, which is ABSOLUTELY NOT GOING TO BE ALLOWED
with his father. So with the help of his mother and the wandering squirrel
Russa Nodrey, he and Russa meet up with a Long Patrol crew.
Then there are the Rapscallions. After a failing attack on the badger mountain
of Salamandastron, they head toward Mossflower Woods. The Long Patrol group
Tammo was in heads to the abbey to inform them of the danger-an especially
important thing since Redwall's South Wall is crumbling. Fate says Damug
Warfang and his band of Rapscallions will not see the walls of Redwall-but
how can they accomplish this? After all, most of the Redwallers are peace-loving
creatures!
Little
do they know Cregga Rose Eyes, the bloodwrath-stricken Badger Lady of Salamandastron,
is out to seek Warfang with another Long Patrol crew and cannot be stopped-she
will not rest until Damug is dead.
This
is a good book for those who like the creatures at Salamandastron and are
hungry for an extra helping of battle and revenge with a side order of
friendship. Though battle is an important part in this book, Martin only
appears once or twice but those times are important.
