Dr. Monroe watched Megan, looking for a reaction.
"I know Jason can't be adopted because the DNA tests showed that your his mother, but Brian on the other hand, showed up as not being his father" She explained. Megan nodded. "Do you want to tell me the truth?"
"I don't think it's really any of your business" Megan replied stubbornly.
"Do you think Brian wouldn't find out? You didn't seemed very stunned when I told you that Brian's tests didn't match Jason's, so I'm guessing you knew he wasn't the father" Dr. Monroe exclaimed.
"He loves Jason so much...I could never tell him" Megan replied. The doctor sighed.
"His love for Jason won't change, His love for you on the other hand probably will though" Dr. Monroe replied. Megan nodded. "Do you want to tell him?"
"I couldn't" Megan replied, feeling the guilt of the past 5 years hit her. She lied to a man that loved her and her son more than anyone in the whole world and now she'd pay the concequences.
"I could tell him the basics of the situation if you want" Dr. Monroe replied. "But I bet that he'd rather hear it from you"
"I wouldn't be able to tell him" Megan replied. The doctor nodded.
"I'm going to need you to call all the people who might be Jason's birth father" She explained. Megan nodded. She gave her a reassuring smile.
"Your husband seems like he'll understand" Dr. Monroe replied.
"Understand? He's not even my husband. He's stuck by me for 5 years and all I've done is treated him like shit" Megan replied.
"He wouldn't of stuck with you if he didn't love you" Dr. Monroe commented.
"Yes he would-He thought that Jason was his son" Megan replied. She controlled herself from bawling all over the doctor's office. She grabbed a tissue and stood up.
"I'm going to go call some people-Can you tell him after I'm gone?" Megan asked. Dr. Monroe nodded and opened the door. Megan walked out and stood outside the waiting room. Nick, Lyndz and Brian were inside talking to eachother. Megan walked in and walked over to them.
"Megs? What's wrong?" Brian asked, seeing her eyes red and tears running down her face. He got up and walked over to hug her.
"Jason's going to be fine" Brian reassured her. "What did the doctor say?"
"Stay Here...I gotta do some things" Megan exclaimed. She placed her lips onto his and kissed him hard, expecting it to be their last kiss. "I love you"
"I love you too" Brian replied with a grin. When Megan left the room, Dr. Monroe walked in.
"Mr. Littrell?" Dr. Monroe questioned.
"Yes?" He asked.
"I was wondering if you'd like to come with me?" She asked. Brian looked over and Nick and Lyndz.
"Am I the donor?" He asked.
"Not Exactly" She replied. Lyndz looked down and sighed. Brian got up and followed her to the office Megan had been in minutes before.
"We did a DNA test and the results came back negative" She exclaimed.
"So Megan is giving Jason a kidney?" He asked.
"No, I mean the DNA results. DNA tests tell who the father of a child is. When we gave you the test it came out negative" She explained.
"Your saying I'm not Jason's father?" Brian asked. Dr. Monroe nodded. Brian was quiet.
"Did Megan tell you that that was true?" Brian asked. Dr. Monroe smiled.
"She didn't have the heart to tell you" She replied. She expected a reaction from the man, but instead he just sat still. "She loves you very much"
"That's why she's been lying to me for the past 5 years" Brian yelled, he felt his anger rise. "I'm sorry, you're just doing your job, I shouldn't have raised my voice"
"It's fine, I understand" She replied. Brian stood up and let himself out. Dr. Monroe sighed and went to go check on Jason.
"Hi Mom" Megan exclaimed. The end of the line was was quiet. "Mom?"
"Mom? That's weird. The last I talked to you I thought you never wanted to see me again" Mrs. Connor muttered. Megan sighed.
"Mom-Jason's real sick and I don't have time for this" Megan exclaimed.
"Jason's your son. You know how I know? From the magazine I saw about 3 years ago on Brian. You haven't talked to me for 5 years. You haven't allowed me to see my grandson. You haven't even sent me pictures and now you want to talk?" Megan's mother asked. Megan almost screamed.
"Mom I'm sorry ok? Did you keep any of my stuff at the house?" Megan asked.
"I left everything like it was" Her mom replied. "Why?"
"I need my diary-Ya know? The one I kept when I started modeling? It has some information I need" Megan replied. She looked down the hall from where she was standing at a pay phone to see Brian coming towards her. "Mom-I'll see you soon, I gotta go"
"Meg--" Her mom exclaimed just before she hung up. Megan quickly ran into a bathroom nearby and closed the lock on the door, a few minutes later, she opened the door and looked out, thankful that Brian hadn't seen her.
Megan got out of the cab and ran to her mother's door. She hadn't seen her old house in so long, she smiled at the sight of it. When she rang the bell, her mother opened it up, holding the diary.
"What's this all about?" She asked. Megan reached for the diary, but her mom put it behind her back. "Your not going anywhere with this until you tell me what's wrong"
"I don't have time for this" Megan exclaimed. Her mom stared at her, very confused. Mrs. Connor couldn't believe she was staring at her daughter. She might have look the same, but her eyes showed her age. They showed pain and fear. She shocked Megan by pulling her in for a hug.
"Whatever you've done, I want you to know, your still my baby and I love you" She whispered in Megan's ear. Megan felt the tears whelling up. The people taht loved her the most, she had pushed away. Megan held on to her mom for a moment before pulling away.
"We'll talk soon" Megan replied. She smiled and ran back towards the cab. When she got in, she flipped through the thing until she got to the month before she met Brian, scanning it for names. Every moment of her life since she was 16 was in her diary. She found a paragraph about a wild night she'd had with some guy at a party. There wasn't any names, so she turned the page. The guy's name was on top. Nick Carter.
