Megan and Lyndz ran to the nurse at the front desk.
"Brian Littrell" Lyndz exclaimed. The Nurse punched some things into the computer.
"I'm sorry-There's no Brian that's been admitted" She exclaimed. Megan felt her heart drop. If Brian wasn't the one being admitted, that meant it was Jason.
"Jason Littrell" Megan exclaimed. The nurse stared at her for a second.
"Only family and friends are allowed to see him" She exclaimed. Megan took out her ID and threw it at her.
"I'm his mother" Megan muttered. She looked at it and then instructed them where to go. Megan and Lyndz took the elevator up to the 4th floor where Jason was. They ran down a corridor until they saw the guys. When Brian saw her, he stood up and started towards her.
"Oh Meg" Brian exclaimed. His face was pale and his eyes were red. Megan fell into his arms and held him tight.
"What happened?" Lyndz asked. Nick sighed.
"They said it's something with his kidneys" Nick exclaimed.
"But he's only 5, How can he have something wrong already?" Lyndz asked. AJ shrugged.
"Kids can get the same stuff as us" He replied. Megan heard someone say her name. She turned around and faced a young woman.
"Hi, My name is Doctor Monroe" She exclaimed. Megan extended her hand.
"How is he?" She asked.
"Not good," She explained. Megan closed her eyes, feeling the tears run down her face. " In fact, I can't believe his doctor didn't notice his problem before"
"He told me about a year ago that one of his Kidneys seemed to have a abnormality but it was nothing to worry about" Megan exclaimed.
"Well, It's become 10 times worse" She replied. "It seems that one of his kidneys isn't working at all, while the other is having trouble and it to is also slowly becoming unusable. If you want the technical name of your son's problem it's a problem with his Posterior Urethral Valves"
"So what does that mean?" Brian asked.
"It means Mr. Littrell that your son is going to have to have a kidney transplant. He can live on 1 kidney if it's a healthy one, which either of your sons are" She replied. Brian closed his eyes.
"What can we do?" He asked.
"Well, we're going to have to check both of your kidneys. Since your his parents, one of you will be able to give him one of your kidneys" She replied. Someone yelled for her. "Listen, I'll send someone in a few minutes to get you guys both in to get tested"
"Yea" Brian replied. When she left, Brian hugged her tight, whispering to her that everything would be alright.
Megan and Lyndz sat in a waiting room, while they were performing tests on Brian.
"God Lyndz, What am I going to do?" Megan asked.
"I'm sure Jason will be fine" Lyndz replied.
"No-I mean, Brian's DNA won't match Jason's at all and if whatever Jason needs doesn't match with me, Jason doesn't have a chance" Megan replied. Lyndz sighed.
"Girl, Don't worry about it until you have to" Lyndz replied. A nurse came out of a room and called Megan to come in.
"Can I see him now?" Megan asked. Dr. Monroe smiled.
"You can go in there while we run the tests. It'll be about an hour at most" She explained. Megan walked down a hallway and found Jason sleeping peacefully on a hospital bed. She walked over and grabbed his hand.
"This is all my fault" Megan cried.
"How is this your fault?" Nick asked. Megan looked up to see Nick standing in the doorway.
"Because...." Megan started, searching for a good lie. "Because I knew something was wrong-but I never did anything about it"
"You couldn't have changed anything" Nick exclaimed. He walked over and wrapped his arms around her. "I'm really glad you and Brian found eachother-When we're on tour all he talks about is you"
"Yea" Megan replied. She let go of Jason's hand and looked up at Nick.
"The test results should be in soon" Megan exclaimed. Nick nodded and followed Megan out to the waiting room where Brian and Lyndz sat.
"Where'd the other guys go?" Megan asked.
"I sent them home-Kev has to fly to LA to see Kristin and they really couldn't do anything about Jason. I told them I'd update them if something happens" Brian explained. Megan nodded and sat next to him on a couch. There were other families sitting around, waiting to hear news. Whenever a doctor walked in, it seemed everyone looked up.
"Mrs. Littrell?" Dr Monroe asked, peeking her head in.
"Ms. Connor" Megan corrected. The doctor smiled.
"Could I talk to you for a moment?" She asked. Megan left Brian's arms and followed her into a tiny room.
"It seems we have a problem here" She exclaimed. Megan gave her a confused glance. "It seems either of you match what Jason needs"
Megan closed her eyes. There was no way Brian wouldn't find out now.
