CHAPTER SIX

Megan grabbed a Twinkie and stuck it in her mouth. Nick was standing next to her with a Corona in his hand. He was holding onto the wheel while the guys positioned the sails. It was 9pm and the wind had gotten stronger. Megan leaned against the railing and watched Nick.

"Something wrong?" He questioned.

"I never took you for being such a..." Megan thought a moment. "Man"

"Thanks" Nick muttered.

"I mean...I thought of all you guys as a bunch of wussies that are in a pansy band-I guess I was wrong" Megan replied.

"YOu guess?" Nick questioned with a grin.

"I know I was wrong. You guys are cool" Megan replied. He smirked. "Mandy doesn't like me much does she?"

"She doesn't like anyone that has a better body and personality than her" Nick replied.

"Are you saying I have a nice body?" Megan asked.

"Maybe" Nick replied. "You and Brian more than friends?"

"No-He asked me to come and it sounded cool so I did"

"It looked like you were more than just friends when you guys were playing with the lotion" Nick replied. Megan grabbed a Heineken out of the cooler.

"We're Just Friends" Megan stated as she walked down towards the deck.

"Let's play the abc shot game" AJ exclaimed.

"That would be?" Brian questioned. They were sitting at a table that Nick had set up on the deck.

"We go around saying a name of a city in ABC order. If you can't think of one-You take a shot" AJ explained. Megan agreed to play and she set her heineken on the table. Kevin went to take it when she stopped him.

"Get your hand off my Heine" Megan joked. Kevin laughed and AJ started the game,

"Arlington" AJ exclaimed. They could make up names but if people didn't agree with the name you took a shot.

"Bermuda" Amanda exclaimed.

"Connecticut" Nick said. Kevin looked at him.

"That's a state Nicky" He corrected. Nick gave him a look for calling him 'Nicky' and took a shot. By the end of the alphabet everyone had taken at least 6 shots-execpt for Megan who only drank one. Since it was around 11pm they dceided to call it a night. They all stumbled to their sleeping bags.

"How about we go scuba diving?" Nick suggested. Mandy gave him a concerned glance.

"After all those shots?" She asked.

"I could take 100 and I could still scuba dive" Nick explained. He went over to drop the anchor. "You wanna come with me Brian?"

"Sure" Brian replied in a groggy voice. Megan objected but the two men shut her up. They put on air tanks and flippers and jumped over board. Megan and Mandy bent over the side of the boat waiting for the 2 of them to come up.

"Maybe something happened" Megan whined. Mandy sighed.

"They'll stay down there awhile we might as well go to sleep" Mandy replied. Megan couldn't belive how she lost her concern for Nick so quickly. Mandy went over to AJ and started to casually flirt with him. Megan rolled her eyes. Mandy didn't appreciate Nick at all-She told herself to remember that and tell Nick in the morning.

"Nah-I'll wait" Megan replied. She'd had 3 Heineken's herself. Whenever she drank she got more hyper then drunk. She sat near the side and sung song's to herself while waiting. She was almost done with the Lyrics from the entire Eminem 'Marshall Mather's LP' ' when Nick resurfaced.

"Where's Brian?" Megan questioned. Nick shrugged.

"I dunno" Nick replied.

"Wasn't he with you?" Megan demanded. Nick giggled. Megan suddenly had a bad feeling. She pulled the shorts she was wearing off and dived into the water. Her brother had always called her a fish when she was younger. The cold water hit her body and caused Goosebumps to pop out everywhere.

"Where'd you seem him last?" Megan questioned. Nick pointed down so she did a surface dive and dove under. She saw Brian and about 20 feet under struggling with his air tank. She swam to him and saw he was taking in water. She remembered from her Life Guard that he needed air quickly to stay alive. She opened her mouth and pressed her lips to his blowing in water. They swam up to the surface. She let go and saw a grin on Brian's face.

"You could've died!" Megan yelled. Brian smirked.

"Gotcha" He replied. Megan splashed water in his face.

"You're such an asshole" Megan yelled. She got onto the boat and went down to the cabin below.

"Megan!" Brian yelled at the door. He and Nick had talked about pretending to drown to scare Megan in the water. They'd always been practical jokers. Brian really liked her. It seemed like a good idea at the time and he thought Megan would get a kick outta it. "I was just joking"

"I didn't find that funny" Megan yelled through the door. She walked over and opened it. She was wearing a pink tank top and some loose fitting Nike shorts. Her hair was still wet and it was dripping down her back. Brian walked in and closed the door behind him.

"I didn't mean to scare ya" Brian explained with a puppy face.

"Well you did" She replied. She sat on the bed in the corner and picked up a brush to brush her hair.

"I'm sorry" Brian replied. He sat next to her. "But thanks for risking your life to jump in and save me"

"Risk my life for you? HA! I could swim back to shore and be OK" Megan replied. Brian moved closer to her. Megan gulped and made eye contact. She expected Brian to kiss her. In many ways she wished he would. Instead Brian took her hand and squeezed it.

"I'm sorry" He apologized. Megan sighed.

"I hate when people scare me" Megan explained.

"Like Scary Movies?" Brian asked.

"I love 'em" Megan replied. Brian thought a second.

"Tomorrow night Nick and I are going to see 'Sex ad Death', wanna come?" Brian asked. Megan made a face.

"Is that a porn?" She questioned. Brian laughed.

"No...This serial killer goes on a killing spree killing people at this college-It's suppose to be scary" Brian explained. She was about to say 'yes' when she remembered Lyndz wanted to go to a movie with her.

"No...But Thanks' for asking" Megan replied. Brian sighed. He should've known she didn't wanna go with him. "Me and My friend Lyndz are seeing that new Adam Sandler Flick"

"Me and Nick wanted to see that too-We could probably go together" Brian offered.

"That'd be cool-I'll ask her" Megan replied. Brian grabbed a pillow from the bed.

"Well-Wanna go to bed?" He asked.

"I forgot my sleeping bed" Megan whined.

"That's alright-We can share" Brian replied.

Megan placed her leg on his and her head on Brian's chest. Brian was sleeping with his back to the ground. It was about 3am and she couldn't sleep. Brian's shirt had come unbuttoned under the sleeping bag during the night so her head rested on his bare stomach. Megan clung tighter to him since she was cold. Megan knew Brian liked her-It was obvious. The biggest give away that he liked her was the party that was going on his pants. It was highly noticable. Brian's eye opened and he looked down at Megan.

"Is This a dream?" He asked. Megan laughed.

"Yea" Megan replied. Brian smirked.

"That's the only reason a beautiful women would be sleeping on me" Brian joked. Megan looked up at him.

"Do you like me?" Megan questioned. Brian thought a moment.

"No" Brian joshed. Megan shrugged.

"I knew it" Megan joked. Brian sat up, causing Megan to also.

"For real though Megan-I like you a lot" Brian exclaimed.

"Good because I like you too" Megan replied. Brian leaned over to kiss her when AJ started to make kissing sounds from his sleeping bag. Megan looked down to see AJ smiling at them. Megan sighed. She stood up.

"Thank AJ for ruining that moment" Megan exclaimed. "I'm hungary"
