CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

Josie turned her head from the window and stared at Nick.

“How long until we get there?” Josie asked.

“20 Minutes” Nick replied. Josie sighed.

“NICK! You said 20 minutes an hour ago! Do you have ANY idea where we are?” Josie asked. Nick glared at her.

“This is the house I bought my parent’s we’re talking about. Of course I know where it is” Nick replied. Josie sighed.

“I’m hungry” She grumbled.

“Want to stop at McDonald’s?” Nick asked, seeing a sign for one at the next exit.

“Sure” Josie replied.

“I’ll have a small orange Hi-C and a filet-o-fish” Josie exclaimed. The 16-year-old looked up at Nick for his order. He tipped his American Eagle baseball hat over his face.

“I’ll have a #1” Nick replied.

“That’ll be 7.65” The girl exclaimed. Nick handed her the money and stood quietly.

“We should’ve gone through the drive-thru” Nick muttered.

“Will that be for here or to go?” The girl questioned. Before Nick could answer Josie replied.

“For here” She exclaimed. Nick sighed.

“Make yourself useful, Get some ketcup” Josie exclaimed. Nick walked away from the register.

“I saw you last night” The girl exclaimed, putting fries on a tray.

“Huh?” Josie asked.

“The LA BSB Concert, I was there with some friends, I went to the bathroom and you were standing by me, Are you a big BSB fan?” The girl asked. Josie smirked, she remembered her now. At the concert the girl had been wearing the shortest skirt and the lowest tank-top known to man. Josie was happy she didn’t know who really was.

“Yeah, I’m a big one” Josie replied, walking from the counter. Nick picked the booth farthest from anyone in a corner.

“So-Do you think you know where we are?” Josie asked.

“Yeah-20 minutes from my house” Nick replied. “I ate here once already”

“You mean, you actually went INSIDE a restaurant?” Josie questioned with a sarcastic tone.

“Yeah” Nick replied. He grabbed some fries and shoved them into his mouth.

“Do you think your mom will like me?” Josie asked.

“Well, she hasn’t like almost any of my girlfriends, so most likely no” Nick replied.

“Oh” Josie mumbled. Nick looked up at her,

“But my dad likes you, which is the important thing. Me and my dad are closer than me and my mom” Nick explained. The week that Josie and Nick had spent in Florida had been pretty good, besides the incident with Katie that is. They went to Disney one day. Universal the next and spent a day on Nick’s boat. They had to leave early and fly to Georgia. Leighanne was having everyone get fitted for his or her outfits all at once. The wedding was going to be held in a week; 200 people at most in a small chapel outside Atlanta.

“We better get going” Josie exclaimed, finishing off her food.

“NICK” Aaron screamed. Aaron came running at Nick. Nick scooped him up for a big hug, Josie laughed quietly. BJ and Bob came outside. Bob walked over by Josie.

“Hey-How have you been?” Bob questioned.

“Good and you?” Josie asked.

“Great, This is the oldest girl, Bobbie Jean, We call her BJ” Bob exclaimed. BJ smiled weakly at her. Aaron looked up at Josie.

“Do you like to play Basketball?” Aaron asked,

“Do I like to play B-Ball? I love playing! I wasted Nick in a couple games already” Josie explained. Aaron smiled.

“My friends and I are playing outback, Do you want to play to?” Aaron asked. Josie took this as a sign that Aaron at least liked her.

“Sure” Josie replied.

“DINNER” Jane Carter exclaimed. Josie fell to the grass. For 11-year-olds, Aaron and his friends could play Basketball. Aaron said bye to his friends and walked over to Josie. He put his hand out and helped her to her feet.

“We’re having Burgers tonight” Aaron exclaimed. Josie followed him into the house, 3 sets of eyes looked up at her. Nick walked to her side.

“Josie this is my mom, my sister Leslie and my little sister Angel” Nick explained. Josie smiled.

“So you like Basketball?” BJ asked.

“Yea” Josie replied,

“I beat her” Aaron exclaimed happily.

“She probably let you win” Angel exclaimed.

“No, That’s because at 11 you have more game then your brother” Josie joked. Nick hit her playfully in the stomach.

“So Josie, What do you do for a living?” Jane asked.

“I’m going to school” Josie replied. “I love kids, I want to teach”

“After you have a few of your own, you won’t want kids anymore” Jane joked. Josie smiled, everything was going to be OK.

Josie turned around on the spare bed in the guest room. Nick was playing with a flashlight, trying to get it to work.

“What are you doing?” Josie questioned.

“Well, My mom would freak if I stayed in here with you tonight, so if you get bored, come to my room” Nick explained.

“And your mom wouldn’t mind that?” Josie questioned with a grin.

“I share a room with my Aaron, She knows I wouldn’t do anything with him there” Nick replied. “You can come in and play N64 with us or something”

“Well, Night Nick” Josie exclaimed. She brought her head to his and kissed him.

“Night” He replied. He walked out, leaving the flashlight on the dresser.

Josie stumbled down the hall, not knowing which door was Nick’s. She was about to turn around and go back to her room when she noticed a light on under one of them. Josie opened the door and paused. BJ and some guy were messing around on her bed. BJ looked up and saw Josie standing there. She threw the guy off and smiled.

“Why are you in here?” BJ demanded. Josie closed the door behind her.

“I was looking for Nick and Aaron’s room” Josie replied. BJ stared at her, then down at the guy on the floor.

“Go home brad” BJ exclaimed. He got up, smiled at Josie and lowered himself out the window.

“Listen-I know you’ll tell mom-” BJ started.

“Why would I tell your mom?” Josie questioned, walking towards her bed.

“Every girlfriend of Nick’s rats on me” BJ replied. “Amanda, Nick’s last girl, found a condom in my room and went straight to my mom. I was in so much shit for that”

“Well, I’m not suppose to be walking around so, If I don’t tell, you don’t tell, kepesh?” Josie asked. BJ smiled sweetly.

“Kepesh” She replied.

“Well, If you could tell me which room is Nick’s; I’ll leave you alone” Josie explained.

“Next door on the right” BJ replied. “And Josie, Could you not tell Nick? He hates Brad”

“Sure” Josie replied, walking towards Nick room.
