U.S.S. KEARSARGE

The name "Kearsarge" has a long been a part of the United States Navy. Four ships have had the name, each of which having it's own unique history. This website is intended to share that history.

Personally, I served aboard the third ship to have the name. I made her last cruise, and deactivated her in 1970. Like your first love, your first ship is often one you will never forget. She becomes a part of you, much like you were a part of her. She may have been scrapped, but somehow she lives on lingering in your memories.

Now let's cast off, and cruise through history.
The history of the ships named

KEARSARGE
