What is Wicca?

Wicca is a neopagan religion ("Neo-Pagan" refers to a collection of separate religions which share a few common themes) Many Wiccans believe in a Female Goddess or a Goddess and a God co-relationship. Its a very earthbased religion.
Although Many Wiccans call themselves witches not all witches are Wiccans. And keep in mind that witches are unlike the ones you see on T.V and in movie. They don't fly on broomsticks, they look like ordinary people, not like the witches you see on Halloween specials with straw like hair and big warty noses.
Many Wiccans believe in reincarnation, when we die, our spirts are placed into another body and born again. To live life over. Keep in mind that not all Wiccans feel the same way, many have different views about what happens after death.
Most practitioners are solitary, (around 75% or higher) Which means they practice, study, celebrate ect. on their own. But some practinioners are in covens. Covens are groups of practinioners(traditionally, 13 members but not always.) they get together to celebrate, study and preform rituals.

"We are not evil. We don't harm or seduce people. We are not dangerous. We are ordinary people like you. We have families, jobs, hopes, and dreams. We are not a cult. This religion is not a joke. We are not what you think we are from looking at T.V. We are real. We laugh, we cry. We are serious. We have a sense of humor. You don't have to be afraid of us. We don't want to convert you. And please don't try to convert us. Just give us the same right we give you--to live in peace. We are much more similar to you than you think." Margot Adler
