The Solar Teachings (Ancient Gnosis) - as expressed in St John's Gospel

© School of Universal Mind

William Kingsland, in The Gnosis and Christianity writes, "The cosmic aspect of Religion is this - Humanity as a whole is a Unitary Cosmic Entity associated with the cosmic function of this particular globe as a unit in the Solar System: that System being a still larger cosmic unit whose life-history is represented by the Sun; or spiritually, by the Solar Logos."

The Christian Bible, especially the Gospel of St John, and the Epistles of St Paul, gives us clues to the ancient Solar Doctrines wherein the genuine secrets of life, and of Man's relationship to the "whole" are to be discovered. Because the Gospel of St John contains some of the best examples we will begin there. (The "Logos" is the Greek for Word).

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

This "Word" was the beginning of all manifestation. A word is the formulated idea used to express the idea behind it. Thus, we know that to convey any idea we need to formulate a word which gives the accurate idea of what is meant. We know this by human experience, and we use different words to express our varying ideas. First the Idea, then the Word, then the manifestation of the Word.

The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made.

Everything there is, and ever was, proceeded from the Source or First Principle we call God. Thus everything which was created was first an idea of this God. In Genesis 2:5 it infers that God created all these things before they appeared on the Earth!

Therefore, if everything first appeared in the Mind of God then all things must be of the perfect nature of God, and of the same basic substance. In the Wisdom of Solomon (Apocrypha) 2:23 it reads

For God created Man to be immortal, and made him to be an image of His own eternity

Therefore Man was made eternal as a natural condition. Also see WS 1:13-15

For God made not death: neither hath He any pleasure in the destruction of the living

(so who is it who is destructive to the living)?

For He created all things, that they might have their being: and the generations of the world were healthful; and there is no poison of destruction in them, nor the kingdom of death upon the earth (for righteousness is immortal)

So, since Man is made in God's own image and likeness, and God is incapable of either sin, disease or death - how does Mankind come to experience these things? All we can answer to this is that Man must invent or suppose his own ills, and experience everything else as a reflection of his own mind content! Let us continue the Gospel of St John

In Him was life; and the life was the Light of men.

The nature of this life is Light, and Light is energy which is the Life Force in mankind, so the substance of God and mankind is Light Energy - it is therefore indestructible and eternal, always pure and without blemish - Man's Primal State.

And the Light shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not.

According to some ancient philosophies the darkness represents God, or the Light, not yet revealed to the awareness of Man, thus allowing a steady state spiritual evolvement towards eternity from innocence to the full stature of the Godhead bodily - thus perfect at every stage.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John

This God emanates all of Its nature in fullness, and completeness, throughout our Solar System - our "God" is the Radiant Sun who is continually radiating Its own Light throughout our space impregnating all form with His own Life substance, and is capable of manifesting Himself as a man (or woman) in time, according to tradition, at important cycles, to reveal Himself and to give an update on the prevailing teachings regarding Himself. These are traditionally called the Solar Doctrines. One must then look to it when these Solar Teachings appear around once more?? In the cryptic language of all scriptures the name "John" refers to incarnate love, so God appears in the form of love - the Ultimate Love.

The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all Men (Mankind) through Him might believe.

This indicates that those who receive Him will be given a recognisable witness, as signs, of the authentic presence of God. See later statements.

He was not the Light but was sent to bear witness for that Light.

This statement is written in somewhat awkward terms, but indicates that, whilst it appeared like a man who came, it was not the form itself that was come to bear witness of Himself, for as he says it to this effect in the scriptures, and is to be found in the Old Testament. These scriptures infer that because some teachers find difficulty in describing God as themselves, we find in the Book of Ezekiel 14:7 ".....and cometh to a prophet concerning me; I the Lord will answer him by myself", and further statements to this effect can be found in other places.

That was the True Light which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

It is interesting to note that this is the light that lights every man who comes into the world, for this can be nothing more than the Sun Itself. When a man comes into the world, according to St Paul the world is the area where mankind experiences the things that are not of God, even Jesus says to his disciples that in the world you will have great tribulation. In this light we need to ask ourselves "why"?

He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.

Here we come face to face with the paradox. In the Gospel of James, Jesus is given to state the "the Kingdom of God is spread out upon the earth but man does not see it". This is because mankind has been swept up in his assumptions, opinions and hypotheses by means of his limited vision at this point of experience. Our inner Godhead seems to be dulled by the creating of our own ideas, which is a God quality we inherently have, and we seem unable to be in control of our energies and forces, thus making many mistakes either wilfully or in ignorance.

He came to His own and His own received Him not.

This statement clearly indicates what I have said before. Those who have wilfully acted after their own interpretations of what the Truth and Reality of Life is, are unable to comprehend the Things that Are.

But to as many as received Him, to them He gave the Power to become the Sons of God, even to those who believe on His Name.

Those who are awake to the truth about themselves, and do not lose sight of their origins, receive Him. He is then able to remind them of their true nature and helps them to become aware of the truth that through Him, His own nature and substance in them, gives them the ability to experience His Fullness and Complete sense of God Incarnate - thus being His own Sons (and Daughters) in the flesh who are continually abiding in His Own Powerful Illumination - the Iluminati! God walking on the earth.

Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Those who have retained their memory of their origin, and received the full stature of the Godhead into their lives, are as those born directly from Him. Thus, by being "born again" into Reality are those living on the planet as spiritual beings with God's own nature incarnate within their bodies, which are His very own living Temples. So God Himself dwells with man in those who have made their Temples His dwelling place on earth. These are the Eternal Sons of God, or Sons of the Sun - for God is our Sun - the source of our very life energy, and everything we need to dwell here on earth, and without our Sun we would not exist at all; we are Him, and He is us. We become aware of this Truth when we allow Him to dwell fully in our bodily Temple, and be His servant by co-creating the right conditions for this to happen.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and Truth.

The Word is truly made flesh when we allow it to dwell with us in our bodies, and in our minds and hearts, for God then walks with us, and we come to know His will, even as He did with Adam in the Garden of Eden.

We now turn to St John 6:27, 32 +33

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you, for Him hath God the Father sealed.

Verily, verily I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but My Father giveth you, the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven and giveth life unto the world.

Here again we see that Jesus is referring to the bread which gives life to the world, and every observing scientist knows that this planet thrives on all the energies and forces radiated from the Sun. The bread from heaven is that Solar energy which supports all life within its own perimeter. This is also true of the wine which represents the feminine qualities wherefrom flows the maternal blood to give birth and to maintain her offspring. Therefore because the bread and the wine are of one body, together they form the androgynous body of the Elohim the Creator God.

In verses 41-43 we can also see that the listeners are observing the remarks of Jesus from a human point of view. They are looking at a life form instead of the substance behind it. We understand that in the deep mysteries, we are dealing with energies and forces, and not with personalities. For the human form is the crystallised form of the Divine Idea behind it. Thus Jesus, the realised Christos, could readily say that he was a son of God - for all those who have reached this blessed state can make the same claim. This information becomes evident as we come to understand the nature of the universe, God and Man. Later in verse 71, Jesus informs his followers that he has chosen twelve of them but one of them is a devil. Herein lies another mystery which is to be found in the Solar Doctrines.

The devil, according to present day interpreters, Judas was this devil. Why should a man of the stature of Jesus choose a devil, especially when he had a mission to accomplish? Those who are aware of the cryptic language of the Bible are aware of the fact that this devil refers to one of the faculties of the human body - the holy temple. This faculty is the procreative ability, the nature and purpose of which is, by most humans, misunderstood. In this day and age the majority have fallen for the glamour and misuse of this faculty, and have by so doing created a great amount of discord for themselves because it was not meant for a free for all or just for making babies! The creative power in Man is designed to help him reach the full stature of his godhead - again experiencing the mystery that is from the beginning. This is accomplished by the discipline of the self ie by bringing to bear one's own personal control of this energy. By correct guidance one can become free from all hang-ups. The real devil is one's own lower nature.

In Chapter 7, verses 23 + 24 we read

If a man on the seventh day receive circumcision, that the Law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me because I have made a man every whit whole on the Sabbath Day? Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgement.

The Christos is saying that He has the power to make a man "every whit whole". Here is the truth about the Christos Teaching. It comes to make men whole, and perfect like unto the perfect archetype of Man - for this was also part of Jesus' teaching that we become perfect like our Father in Heaven. The average person (Christian or otherwise) does not take up this challenge - yet it is possible or He would not have said it. Circumcision, as he meant it, is the purifying of the Soul, and this must be done before God can dwell among us within our human temple. We must keep in mind that we should never judge by appearances - a general mistake often made.

Let us turn to chapter 14, verse 6

I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me.

This saying has been misunderstood by many, under the misapprehension that Jesus was referring to himself as a man - an individual. In the reality of his teachings he meant that by the power within him, which came from the Father, as he explains a little further on in verse 10, "Believe thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself; but of the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth works." In verse 17, chapter 7, we read that "This doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me". Here we see that Jesus carefully avoids the possibility of his hearers believing in him as a person - he is always informing them that it is the power within him from the Source.

In chapter 15, verse 19

If ye were of the world, the world would love his own; but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

And verses 21-22

But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, for they know not him who sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin; but now they have no cloak for their sin.

We should be very careful when we open our mouths when we are out and about in the world because we can witness many instances where those who have helped others to seek justice, or spoken of things which are considered taboo, have fallen victims to persecution and ridicule for their thoughts and actions. (The Solar Doctrines are a long way from the literal interpretation of scripture, or a doctrine that belief in a saviour is sufficient unto itself - we must all be doers of the Word).

Let us move on to the Great Prayer of Oneness – chapter 17

These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee; as thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him, and this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them to me; and they have kept thy word. Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.

For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

I have given them thy word; and the world hath hateth them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

In the quotes from the Gospel according to St John there is shown a remarkable parallel with the Father and Son discourses in the Corpus Hermeticum, from which it would appear, that many of the Christian teachings were borrowed. We must also note that the teachings of the Sacred Logos, the Solar Doctrines and the inner Gnosis are based upon the experiences of those great teachers like Jeshu who incarnated the Christos, or "Son of God Principle" into their lives, and so are counted to be the unquestionable truth. This truth does not belong to the one who teaches it - not even to Jesus, the Buddha, Viracocha or Mohammed, but truth is of the Father Himself - even the First Cause of All - the All in All, it belongs to all, and it is the truth that stands on its own merits throughout the ages.

In this light, human beings fall into error when they begin to interpret the truth from their own concept of it. One should be sure that they have been instructed by a rightly qualified teacher before embarking on the quest for the pure mysteries of God. A reliable clue is that no genuine teacher of the truth will charge for the teaching; for it does not belong to anybody, but it belongs to all by right from the Father. Those who sell knowledge are only selling that which is based upon their own concepts, and by the very act of selling, shows that they do not understand the truth.
