If you asked the average man in what he placed his confidence, you would get many different answers. One might say "in the stability of the Stock Exchange", a second "in the company I work for", a third "in the government of the country", another "in the law and order obtaining in nature". Few would answer, "In God."
It is not until the day of adversity dawns that we take Him - who has promised never to leave us nor in any circumstance to forsake us - into our reckoning. When things are going swimmingly we just do not companion with Him, nor are we aware of His indwelling. When trouble strikes we rush first to human beings for succour and they cannot help us.
God is OMNIPRESENCE and being LOVE remains ready to serve us the moment we turn in trust to Him. We should spare ourselves a lot of anxiety, strain and downright sorrow if, from the beginning, we would "make Him our confidence"; if we would attune ourselves to Him.
