2001 Yamaha PW50

The smallest Yamaha playbike, the PW50 uses a mild, two-stroke engine with a simple, single-speed automatic transmission.

Features and Benefits:

The 49cc two-stroke engine is ideal for beginning riders. Adjustable throttle limiter allows parents to increase power gradually as their child's skills improve. The only bike in its class with fully enclosed shaft drive ensures low maintenance and smooth operation. Fully automatic single-speed transmission lets kids focus on riding. Telescopic fork and dual-shock rear suspension deliver excellent bump absorption. Mag-style wheels means no spokes to tighten. Exhaust pipe and engine both fitted with heat shields. Front and rear drum brakes provide big bike stopping power.

2001 Suzuki JR50

What a way to learn to ride! The 2001 JR50 is designed for beginning riders to get in on the action with a bike sized just for them. With a seat height of only 18.9 inches and weighing just 84 pounds, the JR50 makes lightweight maneuverability a top priority.

The JR50 has a variety of features specifically for kids just learning to ride. It has an adjustable power limiter that lets you control your beginner's progress. Its engine is tuned to provide a smooth powerband. A single-speed gearbox and automatic clutch let your youngster concentrate on riding, not shifting. It even has height-adjustable suspension to fit a growing rider.

But that''s not all. The JR50 is styled to fit right in with the big kids' bikes. Its fuel tank, frame covers and fenders all feature styling inspired by Suzuki's line of RM motocross bikes. Plus, for 2001, the JR50 now comes in new-generation RM yellow, so dominant on podiums across the country!

We know that beginners as well as their parents would rather be riding than wrenching. That's why the JR50 features maintenance-free CDI ignition and Suzuki's automatic oil injection system.

The JR50 is everything a beginner could want in an off-road bike. And ridden under proper adult supervision, it's a great way to discover the fun!
