The site encompasses approximately 110 acres with a mix of residential, commercial and conservancy zoning. We have adapted the master plan zoning for a total density of 133 condominiums. These units will have 1-4 bedrooms and be in the 800-3,100 sq. ft. range. A 4,900 sq. ft. club house with indoor pool and common room will offer shared access among all the condo owners. The commercial parcel which encompasses approximately nine acres, will have a 45,000 sq. ft. retreat center on site. This center will contain meeting halls, church, pool, offices, guest accommodation rooms, gift shops and a full service health spa. All common green space will be interlaced with natural prairie flowers and grass plantings, recreational paths and a designated inter-community bike trail. A 35 acre community supported farm, which sells seasonal garden shares of certified organic produce, will provide an on site sustainable food source. We have determined a strict criteria for the use of 'green building' products and highly rated energy efficient materials. These components must not only "talk the talk" but "walk the walk" in product performance. Our primary intent is to construct healthy, functional and attractive structure models. We wish to blend proven technological principles from the fields of health and science into the engineering and construction aspects of this project. Long term sustainability for all flora and fauna (including their human counterparts) is being taken into consideration, along with balancing the need to design for equally precious use of natural resources. This project will, define the fine line of renewable energy and how to incorporate it into a financially feasible manner. Simply put, we will whenever and wherever make use of wind, passive solar, active solar, hydropower, geothermal, radiant and natural daylight energy in all areas of living and operating space. By combining the best applications of energy input/output to each individual area, we are confident to merge both comfortable building demands with conscientious building design. These common sense considerations create a promise of healthy, wealthy benefits for all inhabitants of this project. The richness will be valued in the ability to maintain and remain here for life - a balance of man with nature - without sacrificing health or resources. We truly believe this endeavors will be a model for many developments to come and will serve as an example to many generations as well. We've bet the farm on it! | A group of environmental pioneers (environeers) coming together to create a unique eco* village development located in southeastern Wisconsin. This project will showcase all aspects of "smart growth", ensuring the balance of sustainable design and ecological preservation. The desire is to provide a neighborhood that flows with vitality from all it's components. The synergy created from harmonious blends of flora, fauna, human and natural resources all living together in sync with nature's rhythm. We seek to tap into these inherent patterns and develop these precious yet limited assets in a respectful and responsible manner. | ||
Our quest is to bring traditional, spiritual and technological solutions to this project from the expertise of designers, contractors, farmers, residents, religious/business/civic and political leaders. All input is most necessary and we invite you to become an active and ongoing part of these exciting exchanges. By planting the seedlings of change today, the world will see "the forest through the trees" tomorrow. Continued Blessings, |
