Journal Day 9

Saturday August 21 1999

We woke up around 7:30. Ate our instant oatmeal for the last time. Thank goodness. We rented a canoe for the morning. First Lalasa and Ben went out followed by Jeremy and I. And finally Keith and Lalasa. We got to see the sea plane land and take off a couple of times. Well some of us anyway. After lunch we finshed packing up all our gear and went down to the harbor to wait for the boat. We departed from the island at 3:00pm. Like Ryan said: the trip home always seems shorter. How true that is. Arius.

Well, Jeremy never could be quiet. Even when he was asleep. (ahem) He always has something to say. He's a human television, our entertainment for the week. I don't think anyone would have made it through the week without becoming a nervous wreck without Jeremy. Ryan.

When the ferry arrived in Copper Harbor Mr. and Mrs. Hartmann were waiting for us. After getting our packs they took us to our campsite. We set up out tents for the last time. Got to take a shower. That was nice. Then we all went out to eat at a nice restarant in Copper Harbor. Lalasa.
