stupid little i’m a jerk story...

... I was just walking home from my friends dorm and I passed this big group of people sitting on the lawn. Anyway, me not having the best eyesight I immediately mistook them for the usual hippies that congregate on this lawn. See usually a good lot of hippies sit there with acoustic guitars and bongos and shit and play Jimmy Hendrix and dead songs. these people usually annoy the hell out of me. At any rate, I walked by and saw this group of people, but the closer I got the more I could see and I notice there were blankets on the ground that looked like a potential bed. At this point I was even more annoyed because I thought they were sleeping on the lawn as some sort of hippie initiation ritual. So as I walked by I mumbled things to myself (insults of course). One of the girls who was sitting there asked me something, and as soon as I heard "do you have any change" I blurted out very rudely no and walked away , interrupting her in mid-sentence. A few yards down the path back to my own dorm, I realized what the girl had said. She did ask for change, but the complete sentence was "Do you have any change for the help the homeless fund?" They were trying to raise money for the homeless and all the blankets and cardboard boxes were to show how the homeless live, but I ignorantly just walked by assuming the worst and had been a complete jerk. To answer your question, YES! I am an asshole. I wanted to go back and apologize but I was to upset with myself to do it...
