Brass Monks

Tibetan Freedom Concert - San Francisco, CA

June 15, 1996

Setlist

This is off of a CD called "Brass Monks." I think it can also be found as "Fight For Tibet". It is the show from the 1996 Tibetan Freedom Concert, which Beastie Boy Adam Yauch helped found. It is taped from the soundboard, but it is not very good quality. The vocals are very quiet in spots. "Red Tape" fades out at the end, and "Bodhisattva Vow" and "Time for Livin'" also appear to be cut. Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest joined the BBoys for "Get It Together", where it sounds like he does a little free-style. MCA thanks Tello for helping out on "Bodhisattva Vow". I'm not quite sure who he is, but there you have it. MCA gives a short speech on the importance of the Tibetan cause, non-violent protest, and encourages the crowd to write to President Clinton and make a difference. Overall, it is an alright show, but the poor sound takes away from the all around quality.
