Confrence Centre - Brighton, England
An early gig from the Definitely Maybe tour. They play the entire album along with some b-sides. This is a good quality tape. The vocals can be heard very clearly. The crowd noise has been reduced. Liam sings with great energy the whole show, with Noel providing backing vocals. On "Shakermaker", as Liam does in most of the live performances, he sings the Coca-Cola jingle in the song; "I'd like to teach the world to sing...I'd like to buy the world a Coke, etc." In "Married With Children", Liam messes up and sings the same verse twice in a row. Noel's acoustic set includes "Talk Tonight" which he calls a "new one". I find it interesting that he dedicates this song "to the girl with the dirty shirt on". I assume this is Meg because two and a half years later, he released "The Girl in the Dirty Shirt" on Be Here Now which he says is about Meg. On "Whatever", Liam adds some extra words at the end of the song! He sings the Man City chant, "All the young Blues, carry the news." The brothers seem to have a little more fun as the show goes on. Noel repeatedly talks about his guitar rodie, Jason, and after Liam announces the song "I Am the Walrus", Noel responds with: "No, you're not, I am!" An overall good show. Noel comes back on saying that they "never, ever, ever do an encore." Liam asks the crowd to shout out a song, and they break into Rock N' Roll Star.
