An early gig from the "Definitely Maybe" era. As with most of their early gigs, it sounds as if it is in a club with a very small crowd. The sound quality of this tape is excellent. It's taped from the soundboard. I don't think this is the complete show, because I've found another bootleg that has "Columbia" and "Digsy's Dinner" on it between "Rock N' Roll Star" and "Shakermaker". Noel's backing vocals seem kind of quiet, though. Guigsy's bass playing can be heard clearly, especially on "Whatever". There isn't a whole lot of chatter between songs. The brothers seem set on informing the crowd about Jason from Wolverhampton who's 46 and has ten kids. This is a little inside joke for the band. They always tell the crowd Jason is from whatever city they are currently in, as I have three bootlegs where the brothers give three different cities that Jason is from. Noel dedicates "Slide Away" to "the people in the balconies." Liam has a different idea. "No it's not! It's for all the girls, all them lovely girls out there. You know who you are!" The finale, "I Am The Walrus", included a string section and sounded amazingly Beatles-like. As much as I hate people comparing Oasis to the Beatles, the resemblence on this version is striking, with Liam giving it his all.
