Comparing All That Jazz
I am sure I am not the only one confused about what is on each copy of All That Jazz, so I set up this page to try to compare the albums!
As of January 31, 2000, I have entered another version of ATJ in, which because it has 4 band members, has to be the second version. I have not worked on the specifics of the Jonah versions, etc. but will do so when I have more time! :o)
COVER OF THE ALBUM
ATJ I-- Gray cover, pictures of the 4 Breathe members.
ATJ II-- Dancers cover, has 11 songs on it, including FLoM.
ATJ III-- Black cover, top is black, bottom has picture of 3 Breathe members sitting or kneeling.
ATJ IV-- Same cover, only difference is on the back cover, Breathe is written in blue. Their name is green on the second one. On the back of the booklet, the writing is in white on II, red on III. II has the lyrics to Don't Tell Me Lies, while III has the lyrics For Love or Money in place of Don't Tell Me Lies.

After totaling up the minutes on ATJ I and III, they look to be the same album!
Anyone else think so?
Ok, after finding my copy of ATJ III, I am convinced they are the same. The covers are not, and the band is not, but the music is identical.
COMPARING JONAH I/III TO JONAH IV
*Jonah I/III is slower paced than Jonah IV.
**Jonah I/III has a comb being played throughout the verses, Jonah IV does not, it has more guitar.
***The reason Jonah I/III is longer is because of more choruses and "improv" by David.
****Jonah I/III and Jonah IV are basically the same song (different sounds though) through the first 3:15.
*****Jonah I/III uses men's voices in the chorus, Jonah IV uses women's
voices.
******Jonah IV has the same lyrics in the book as Jonah I/III, but is not sung
the same as the lyrics in the book.
I think I like the first version of the song better. Maybe they had to cut back to make room for "For Love or Money"!
