Always include an sae or postage when ordering zines

The stray hosewives handbook #3 – A5 60pages, 50p Well I want to know how he can do this for 50p and with good reproduction as well, git! Anyway a load of interviews, reviews, columns and articles. A good read mainly light hearted with a couple of serious articles and for the price you should definetely pick this up.

Jakey #3 – A5 56 pages, 50p(?) from 1F3 52 dalry road, edinburgh, eh11 2ba This straight edge zine is a very interesting and informative read that’s not devoid of humour as well. A fine selection of interviews (not just SXE bands) a few reviews and some good articles, I particularly enjoyed the planet of the apes one… It’s only downfall is in the layouts and the crap printing that leaves the photos as abstract blobs.

Greedy pigs #8 – A5 40 pages, £1(?) from po box 172, rugby, cv21 4zu I don’t like this zine at all, I found the articles unreadable because they come over way too like some sort of textbook, the writing style just didn’t draw me in at all and I found myself skipping most of them. And the artwork throughout I hated, just too pretentious, trying to be clever and in my opinion failing, but that’s art for you, you either love it or hate it. If your into the stuff that’s been written about you’ll probably find it informative but not for me.

Knucklehead #1 – A5 36 pages, 50p from 1e union court, paisley, pa2 6dx This is up to issue 3 or 4 now but the later ones were a quid and I’d already bought a load of zines so I had to go for the last pennies bargain option. Not bad for a first issue, lots of enthusiasm and the guy is well into his HC. The layouts are a bit dire and the printing isn’t so hot but you know it’s going to get better.

No barcodes necessary #7 – A4 32 pages £1 from 83 glebe park, chanterhill, enniskillen, bt74 4db, N. ireland There is so much to read in this zine between columns, in depth interviews and a monster review section, there’s pages of it and it’s really small print as well. An essential purchase and one of those zines that both inspires me and makes me wonder why I bother, I just can’t compete.

The paper #1 – A4 52 pages (get it from goodlife or try HHN or skipworth) Another purchase at a gig don’t know the price but I paid 2 dollars for it. I knew that weird american money would come in handy somewhere. Anyway I’m not sure if this is a zine or a full on magazine, it’s got a glossy full colour cover, top class printing and slick layouts, these belgians ain’t short of a buck or two. It concentrates mainly on HC and a bit of emo and it’s got some great photos, this will probably be big zine in the european hc scene.

Fracture #9 – Nearly A4 lots of pages, free all over the place or from po box 623 cardiff, cf3 4za Loads to read, a lot better interviews in this issue and I actually read most of the columns as well, and of course it’s free so what excuse is there for not getting it?
