TAI Droids

Droid listing and costs in credits:

*Not available for bulk purchase to the general public
**Not available to the general public at all

Name: TAI Combat Droideka, Mark I
Type: Battle Droid
Weaponry: Two Heavy Repeating Blasters,
Appendages: Two Arms, No Hands, Three "legs"
Defense: Medium Personal Shield Generator, Bronzium Armor Shell,
Walking speed: 2/3 meter per second, Rolling speed: 4 1/6 meters per second
Description: Also known as a Destroyer Droid, the Droideka is standard combat droid design built by the Geonosians and the Collicoids. It is unique in that it has a wheel-mode for especially quick transportation, but they are slow when they are in their unfolded walking mode (which is how they must be to fire weapons). It is armed with two heavy repeating blasters and armored with Bronzium armor as well as a deflector shield. The drain of the basters and shield requires that the droids have mini-reactors. This version of the droideka has a processor inside which allows it to understand Basic, remember faces, and perform simple comands such as "attack," "follow," "cover," "patrol," "defend," and several other commands.
Note:The combat droideka can be purchased from ThrigTech industries without an Imperial purchase grant.
Cost: 10,000 credits

Name: TAI Scarab Droid, Mark XXa
Type: Assassin Droid
Weaponry: One stunprod, Two Syringes (normally filled with poison)
Appendages: Six legs
Walking Speed: 1/3 meter per second
Description: Tiny, 1.5 inch long droids. Undetectable by standard security systems, and advanced security systems usually decide it is a harmless garden beetle. Has six legs that operate silently, and each leg has tiny claws with which it can climb almost any surface, even upside down. Two extremely thin hollow plasteel syringes protrude from the droid's "head" and can deliver a lethal dose of poison or hallucinegins to a target as the target sleeps. A stun prod on the bottom of the droid makes it capable of simply knocking out targets rather than killing them. The processor is simple in that it can only do two things: be stealthy and kill victims. The specialized sensor package includes an auditory induction sensor, high-gain photoreceptors, heat detectors, pheromone sniffers, and biorhythm analalyzers to ensure a positive ID of the target. The droid can neither speak nor understand Basic, and must be given its target through a computer link. It can store information on four targets at a time. The body hull can withstand approximately one ton of weight, though the exterior sensor systems are more easily broken.
Note: The sale of these droids outside the Empire is discouraged, but with an Imperial Purchase Grant specifying an allowance to purchase the Scarab Mark XX, it is not illegal.
Also Note: Variants of this model include the Scarab Droid Mark XXb and Mark XXc. The XXb is only half an inch long, much smaller than normal, but only has a single syringe or stun prod, and only enough memory for a single target. The XXc is a specialty model designed to withstand ionic and electromagnetic charges thanks to a thick cationically sealed plating, making the droid two inches long, with a only one syringe and a stun prod, and only enough memory for two targets.
Cost: 10,000 credits

Name: LD7-A Espionage Droid
Type: Espionage/Counter-Espionage
Weaponry: None, except for self destruct, which can be particularly deadly.
Appendages: Four durasteel thread "leg" tentacles
Defense: Light Armor
Walking speed: 2.2 meters per second
Description: The LD7-A is the "little brother" of the LD6 Legionairre. It utilizes the same orb-and-tentacles design but it is unarmed except for it's self destruct, but faster, smaller, and with much more highly advanced sensor package. The droid stands half a meter tall at full height, and one sixth of a meter tall when standing normally. This diminuitive droid was designed to sneak into enemy compounds and record events. It was then supposed to return to its base or, if captured, emit a binary comm burst containing all the recorded information in the general direction of its base and then self destruct (in highly sensitive cases, it does not emit the comm burst but merely self-destructs.) However, the droid cannot fly like the Fly Eye and Spy-eye espionage droid models on the open market, and it is slightly larger than both of them. What makes it superior is in its sensor capabilities: it houses a gammatic sonar for seeing through almost any obstacle, an olfactory tracker, a supersensitive auditory receiver, infra-red sensors, bio-scan/lifeform detection/identification detectors, thermal sensors, lowlight receptors, an advanced sonar system, a molecular reader for determining the what something is made of, and a multi-prismatic gravitic sensor. Needless to say, it is intimately familiar with its surrounding area for several kilometers. Despite the fact that it can climb almost any surface, including clinging to ceilings, the LD7-A's size and lack of flight may make one reconsider using it for espionage. One may instead wish to use it for counter-espionage. The intelligence processor has tremendous storage capabilities, an incredibly successful stealth program, and the capability to speak and understand Basic (as well as whatever other languages it has been programmed to learn.) With such storage capabilities, it is possible to delete the stealth and observation programming and replace it with knowledge on almost any matter, making the LD7 a potential expert at any subject, from mechanics, to protocol, to the unabridged history of Corellia.
Note: The LD7-A has looser regulations on it than the combat droids, although a grant is still required for non-Imperial purchase.
Cost: 15,000 credits

Name: TAI SP-1 Sojourner-class Probe Droid
Type: Probe Droid
Weaponry: Light laser projector
Appendages: 10 micro-clawed durasteel tentacles
Defense: Medium coascite plating Flight Speed: 10 meters per second Sensors: gammatic sonar, olfactory tracker, supersensitive auditory receiver, infra-red sensors, bio-scan/lifeform detection/identification detectors, thermal sensors, lowlight receptors Description: The SP-1 Sojourner probot was designed to provide excellent observation of anything, under any conditions. The droid utilizes the same sensor capabilites of the LD7-A Espionage droid, but includes a powerful repulsorlift coil and a defensive laser projector, though still maintaining the highly powerful self-destruct device that makes the LD7 so fearful for those who'd try to tinker with it. The SP-1, like the LD6 and LD7, sports familiar durasteel thread tentacles, each tip ending with a tiny four-clawed pincer. The droid has a built-in tight-beam Imperial-encryption encoded hypertransmitter/reciever, through which it sends information into subspace and through hyperspace to its intended target, up to nine parsecs away! Five SP-1 droids and a base module connect together into a spaceworthy vessel that has enough fuel to make a hyperspace jump of ten parsecs. The droids and base module stay connected as one until they've broken into a planet's atmosphere, where they generally disconnect and split up. The droids can send information directly to the base module itself, which, in turn, can send a boosted transmission over twenty parsecs away. The module sports the same sensor package as the droids, as well as eight repeating laser cannons and two proton torpedoes. However, the base module is ponderously slow compared to the speedy SP-1 droids, so it generally stays in a fixed point while the five droids explore.
Note: The module travels at a top speed of three meters per second in standard repulsor-lift flight, and travels at 1000 km/h in starship flight.
Also Note: The SP-1 probe droid is available for purchase to any faction or person with a good record of standing with the Empire.
Cost: 19,000 credits (Base Module: 25,000 credits, Base Module+5 SP-1 droids: 120,000 credits)

Name: TAI LD6-B "Legionairre"
Type: Specialty assassin/security/battle droid
Weaponry: One Light Repeating Blaster, Four Molecular Stilleto Blades, One ElectroShock Assembly, One MicroFlachette Launcher, One stun Pistol
Appendages: Four durasteel thread "Arm" tentacles, Four durasteel thread "leg" tentacles,
Defense: Diamond Boron plating,
Walking Speed: 2 meters per second
Description:(This droid is pictured above) The Legionairre battle droid normally stands at 1.5 meters. Its torso is a black Diamond Boron plated orb which houses its power core, sensor package, and intelligence processor. Stemming from the torso are four durasteel cable "legs" on which it stands, and four durasteel cable "arms." The arms are the most notable parts of the droid, because they are its weapons. Although each arm ends in a four-fingered claw, all the droid's built-in weapons are in the "hands." First of all, each hand has a retractable molecular stilleto, which can cut through practically any solid object. The palm of each hand also houses a weapon. One hand has a Light Repeating Blaster, one an Electroshock torture assembly, one a micro-flachette launcher, and one a melee stun claw/stun pistol. The droids have advanced Imperial intelligence programming and a working vocabulator, so not only can they speak and understand basic, but they can even formulate complex battle strategies if they need to. The droids are made to work alone, but they work fine in large groups as well. Their tentacle-like legs and arms make them adept at climbing over almost any terrain, and they are even programmed to swim in water if they need to. The design of the droid allows for the tentacles to wrap around the torso, making the droids small enough to ship in large quantities. That same quality allows them to slip into small spaces, such as ventilation shafts. The LD7-B also has a socket which allows a shield generator to be added to the droids defenses (shield generator purchased separately).
Note: These droids are extremely illegal outside of Imperial use.
Cost: 25,000+ credits

Name: TAI LD6-C "Legionairre II"
Type: Specialty assassin/security/battle droid
Weaponry: One Light Repeating Blaster (with stun setting), four molecular stilleto blades, one electroShock assembly, one microflachette launcher, One sonic warbler, one electronet launcher, one nerve gas dispenser, one grappling spike launcher, eight variable electroshock pads
Appendages: Four durasteel thread "arm" tentacles, Four durasteel thread "leg" tentacles (each with a variable electroshock pad that has an alternate magnetic setting for climbing metal surfaces) and also a scomplink
Defense: Magnetically sealed, Diamond Boron plating, medium shield generator, disintigration field/field disruptor generator
Walking Speed: 2 meters per second
Description: The next model of the LD6 series, the LD6-C Legionairre II has several improvements over the older series. First of all, the stun pistol was removed and the light repeating blaster given a stun setting. The arm that formerly had the stun pistol, now has three cylindrical canisters just behind the claw "hand" of the arm. The three canisters hold an electronet launcher, for simultaneously stunning and capturing live enemies, a nerve gas dispenser, generally filled with either powerful knock-out gas or poisonous gas that will kill within moments of inhalation, and a grappling spike launcher for climbing to areas otherwise unreachable. Other improvements include a headache-inducing sonic warbler on the arm with the electroshock assembly, and variable electroshock pads built into the end of each of its eight tentacles. A scomplink is built into the droid so it can access computers more easily. Three canisters built onto the droid's right side contain reloads for the microflachette launcher, and three inner compartments on the droid can hold an additional three items (two about the size of a blaster pistol, and one slightly larger than a blaster carbine). Within the droid's main body are a shield generator and a DF/FD generator. The shield will protect against energy and particle attacks, the field disruptor will allow the droid to pass through energy fences, and the disintigration field will allow the droid to pass through most solid objects. Needless to say, the Legionairre II's body section is slightly larger than the Legionairre I's. It is most easily constructed using nanotechnology, because the components of the droid tend to be considerable close together, and assembly line construction is not as efficient in building such things.
Note: Sale of the droid is tightly limited to the Empire and the close allies of the Empire.
Cost: 50,000 credits

Name: TAI C-10 Combat Droid
Type: Heavy Combat Droid
Weaponry: Eighteen laser projectors, six heavy repeating blaster cannons, three flachette launchers, three heavy starship-grade laser cannons, one heavy disruptor cannon, one torpedo launcher, and one turbolaser
Appendages: Humanoid (two arms, two legs); each arm ends in a five-fingered hand; the right arm houses the three flachette launchers and heavy disruptor cannon. The Left arm bears the three starship-grade laser cannons and the turbolaser. Each leg sports four laser projectors.
Defense: Molecular Shielding, Deflector Shield (advanced model only)
Walking speed: 1 meter per second, Running Speed: 8 meters per second
Description: C-10 combat droids are massive warrior drones, towering forty-two feet off the ground. Designed to attack other heavy ground units, the C-10 is armed with extremely powerful weaponry, making it capable of destroying entire buildings if it needs to. The droid's great mass, however, prevents it from moving especially quickly (although it can achieve great running speed) and so it is difficult to aim and fire on smaller targets. To compensate for this drawback, the droid has eighteen laser projectors, eight on the legs, and ten on the upper torso, which can fire in almost any direction. The arms bear the droid's most powerful weaponry, including a turbolaser. To maintain such powerful weaponry, the droid houses two fusion reactors in its lower torso, which is molecularly shielded like the rest of the body. Even with the two fusion generators, whenever the turbolaser is fired the C-10's other energy weapons cannot fire until the generators have recovered, which usually takes about ten minutes. During this time, the non-energy weapons can still be utilized, such as the flachette launchers and torpedo launcher.
Note: All production of the C-10 battle droid has been halted due to the fact that the droids were large, costly, and unweildy in combat situations (though powerful), and there were few buyers of them anyway. A better model, the C-11, may soon become available.
Cost: was 100,000 credits
