Thundercraft Automaton Industries Security

Main Areas of Security

TAI Fleet: 4 ISDs, 4 Corellian Corvettes, 16 Lancers, 39 TF Battleships (3 are damaged), 10 Carrack cruisers, and several squadrons of Geonosian needlefighters.

TAI Ground security forces: 100 Myrmidon battledroids, ?,???,??? Battledroids and droidekas, billions of Geonosian workers and warriors (distributed among the factories, fortresses, and catacombs)

1. Outskirts of Geonosis system: approximately fifty sensor buoys orbit the Geonosian star on the outskirts of the system. They cannot detect cloaked ships, and are armed only with light laser cannons for destroying space debris that gets too close. However, their sensor systems are advanced. They feature radiation scanners, visual scanners, infrared scanners, ultraviolet scanners, communications scanners, and elemental determination scanners, in addition to their advanced long-range sensor package. They are particle shielded. They are constantly sending data back to the TAI fleet, and can be used to send and receive comm transmissions. Ten of the fifty sensor buoys are equipped with hypertransmitters, allowing them to send comm/holo messages beyond the system (note that all of the fifty sensor buoys can receive transmissions from beyond the system, only ten can send).

2. Outer orbit of Geonosis: Most out-of-system transmissions are sent directly to here, rather than through the sensor buoys. Much of the TAI fleet patrols the outer orbit. Closer to the world orbit the TAI star destroyers, maintaining orbit over Primary Fortress, the Trade Fortress, the Nanofactory, and the almost entirely abandoned ruins of Norland. The TAI star destroyers include 4 ISDs. A few Lancers also stay near the planet, as do a few TF Battleships, their tractor beams being useful for halting any escapees.

3. Inner orbit of Geonosis: The asteroid field. Many of the larger asteroids in the asteroid field have mining operations taking place on them. These orbital mining bases have standard long-range sensor packages, which are occasionally disrupted by the metal-laden asteroids floating around. Each base is armed with a quad turbolaser turret. Among the asteroids, there are many worker droids flying around with rocket packs and mining drills, and just as many small cargo loaders transporting mined metals from the worker droids to the mining bases. A planetary turbolaser cannon at Primary Fortress can fire into the asteroid field.

4. The Geonosian atmosphere: There are Geonosian air bases located at each factory or fortress, and they can each launch at least three Geonosian needlefighters, and most also carry more needlefighters and some combat cloudcars. Each fortress is armed with defensive ground to air missile systems and quad laser turrets. Each factory is armed with heavy laser cannons to deter airborne raids.

5. The Planet's Surface: This is a big part of the security, and will have to be divided further... there are 105 assembly-line factories on the planet, fifteen fortresses (not counting Primary Fortress and the Trade Fortress), thirty storage bunkers, and 118 air bases. Most buildings have at least minimal energy and particle shielding.

I. Norland: Once a sizable outlander spaceport city, Norland is now almost entirely abandoned, thanks to actions taken by TAI while it was claiming the planet as its own, which forced anti-Imperial planet dwellers off world. There are still a few people living in Norland but they are too few to be of concern...most work for TAI in one way or another.

II. Primary Fortress: The head, heart, and soul of Thundercraft, Primary Fortress serves as the command center of the company. Geonosians cultivate a parasitic creature called a phidna that excretes raw material that Geonosian artisans mix with stone powders to form a rock paste substance. This substance is used in conjunction with heavy durasteel and refined ore in Primary Fortress. The fortress is a cylindrical structure, approximately 500 meters high (above ground), and 200 meters in diameter. It is entirely enveloped beneath a powerful Imperial grade shield generator. Troops (both droids and Geonosians) keep visitors from approaching the fortress. The fortress is currently the only structure on the planet with a planetary turbolaser, a massive structure capable of firing devastating blasts into orbit (according to the Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology, it can destroy an Imperial star destroyer). Around the top of the Fortress are 16 anti-aircraft missile launchers, which launch homing missiles. In a tighter ring on the top of the fortress are 16 quad laser turrets. In the center of the turret ring is a large landing pad and two protruding armored turbolift entrances. The landing pad itself can lower to the interior of the fortress, but only to the top floor, where security is tight. On the outside of the fortress, positioned evenly around it, are 64 heavy laser cannons, 8 more quad laser cannons, and 8 light ion cannons, for defense against ground assaults. There is an airbase adjacent to the Planetary Turbolaser (security for airbases to be given later). Standing guard outside Primary Fortress's three entrances are contingents of LD6-C battledroids, exactly thirty LD6s per door. Within the massive blastdoor entrances are more battledroids, mostly B2 battledroids, which patrol the outer corridors constantly and tirelessly. Along every one of the dimly lit corridors are hidden holocams and laser projectors, and many of the corridors have tiny peep-holes through which Geonosians keep watch from other rooms. In more than one place, the walls are home to hundreds of Geonosian workers, which sleep in these areas when they are not required in other areas. The winding corridors are home to many more battledroids, including B1s, B2s, droidekas, and LD6s. Along the floors of the corridors at random intervals are repulsor grav-traps, which can be activated by the security system or by an overseer of that sector of the fortress. When passing from corridor to corridor, corridor to room, and room to corridor, one must pass a security check, which scans your genetic make-up, chest markings (the Geonosian equivalent to a fingerprint), retina (modified specifically for Geonosians, but also works on most humanoids), and security code cylinder and ring. Code rings and code cylinders are distributed to all TAI employees, but, of course, only high ranking Geonosians are allowed into the highest security areas. The code cylinder system goes from blue to green to yellow to red, with red being the highest. Battledroids and workers are given blue passes, technicians are given green passes, officers and lesser overseers yellow passes, and the Grand Overseer and Archduke is given the red pass. The rooms are used for research, communications, historical archives, and other various purposes. The entire structure continues underground for about one hundred meters, whereupon it connects with the Underground Catacombs (to be described later). Thriggle's throne room is in the underground section of Primary Fortress, and is the only room with no peep holes, holocams, or laser projectors on the walls. However, it is home to a host of droids and Geonosian warriors that await only his command...the droids are hidden throughout the room, some clinging to the ceiling, while the elite Geonosians stand guard with Force Pikes and sonic blasters around the room, switching off with other elite guards every two hours. In the center of the room sits Thriggle's throne, a complex chair with several computer interfaces built in so Thriggle can command all of TAI and communicate with the entire planet as well as the TAI fleet from this one place. A secret side exit leads to Thriggle's personal blastboat and two droid-brain needlefighters programmed to obey only his commands. No one except Thriggle and high-ranking Imperials should try to come to Primary Fortress. Most dealings can be executed in other locations.

III. The Trade Fortress: The Trade Fortress is the face of TAI turned to the rest of the galaxy. Here, orders are made and picked up. The Trade Fortress, like all the fortresses on Geonosis, has 16 missile launchers and 8 quad laser cannons on its top. Around the fortress are 32 heavy laser cannons for additional defense. Also positioned around the fortress are four landing platforms, which jut out from its sides, and each allow five starfighters to land (assuming the fighters have landing gear) or three sentinel class landing craft, or two light freighters (like the Millenium Falcon). There are also landing areas on the ground around the fortress, and there is an airbase nearby sporting a squadron of Geonosian needlefighters. The entrance doors are lightly guarded, but under heavy surveillance by sensors and holocams. The corridors within all lead to a main purchasing hall, where droid tellers wait on customers, with battledroids and the occasional Geonosian warriors keeping watch over security. The rest of the fortress houses storage bays for common items purchased at the Trade Fortress, as well as living quarters for the fortress workers, and bunkers for the fortress security forces. It has a large shield generator, but only activates it during emergencies.
