I was one of many who piloted this ship from California to Kuwait. But I was 1 of 3 that could bring her into port. She can carry up to 1500 marines and 490 crew, take smaller boats in through the stern, and sail shallow waters. Built in June 0f 1964, she's seen many of conflicts, including Kuwait.
