Unlocking Tabitha's Basement: Fan Mysteries!

GRACE BENNETT
THE SECRET: What was her life before her amnesia twenty years ago?
THE CLUES: She was rescued in Boston by Sam Bennett who assumed her name was Grace after finding a piece of paper with her name on it. They married and had three kids. Since that time, Grace had been haunted by a voice of a little girl. Lately the girl has appeared to her, which caused Grace to realize it's the same as a statue of an angel at a nearby church. She also learned she had a sister, Faith Standish and a niece, Charity. Somehow Tabitha Lenox, her neighbor, a 300-year old witch fits into her past. Oh, and let's not forget about Grace's mysterious powers.
THE OBVIOUS ANSWER: Tabitha started the fire, causing Grace to forget her past and her sister to decrease the chance of destroying the evil within Tabitha. The angelic statue most likely is somewhat of a guardian angel of good.
THE REAL ANSWER SO FAR: Tabitha did start the fire that caused Grace's memory loss. Apparently all Standish woman must die in a fire…so why don't they? (i.e. Grace and Charity)

EVE RUSSELL
THE SECRET: How is she involved with the Cranes?
THE CLUES: Gives Julian Crane glares. Thinks she knows the real Chad Harris, her daughter's boyfriend. Feels Simone, who is secretive and rebellious is just like how she acted years ago. Not only do we not know about Eve's relatives, neither does her family! She is somehow connected with an old man named Orville, who was run over, the exact same day Eve's car was wrecked. T.C. had found blue envelopes in Orvile's house filled with $100 bills...
THE OBVIOUS ANSWER: She had Chad Harris as a son, but Julian for some reason forced her to keep his existence a secret. Chad was sent to live in L.A. with an adopted family, but left him a piece of Harmony's paper with his name on it, in hopes he would return. Eve has been paying Orville to keep his mouth shut about her secret, but since he has been talking to Chad she was forced to find another way to silence him.
THE REAL ANSWER SO FAR: Eve and Julian had an affair twenty years ago in Barbados in the presidential suite. She is connected to Orville who had Chad's birth certificate, with Chad Harris' name scribbled over somebody else's name. Also, Eve appears to not know all of what Orville knows, although she wants the old man dead and is dead set on keeping her daughters and Chad apart.

T.C. RUSSELL
THE SECRET: How are the Cranes involved with his shattered dreams of becoming a tennis star?
THE CLUES: T.C. keeps a locked shed in the backyard, and has never even told his wife, Eve what's it in there. He busted up his knee many years ago, which caused him to give up tennis. Or did it? Maybe the answer lies in the truth behind why he hates Julian or why T.C.'s picture of when he was in tennis is in Julian's scrapbook.
THE OBVIOUS ANSWER: Julian and T.C. got into a fight about being opposing tennis champs, but T.C. got the bad end of the deal, as he knew if he messed with the Cranes any further, he'd be messing with the wrong family.
THE REAL ANSWER:

IVY WINTHROP CRANE
THE SECRET: Why did she leave Sam Bennett 20 years ago for Julian Crane?
THE CLUES: Ivy is fan of the good life, but has it in her heart to be nice to the common folks of Harmony. She has one son that we know about, Ethan Crane, who she adores. Ivy loves a particular song that Sam loves, and carries a certain necklace with her wherever she goes. She doesn't share bedroom with Julian, and hates her father-in-law, Alistar. Also, it's beginning to look more and more like Ethan may be Sam's child, not Julian's.
THE OBVIOUS ANSWER: Ivy and Sam had a son together, Ethan Crane 20 years ago, before Sam met Grace. But she was somehow blackmailed into marrying Julian in order to give Ethan a better life than Sam could offer. Ethan would be treated like a Crane, however, Ivy knew it was Sam she truly wanted to be with.
THE REAL ANSWER SO FAR: Ivy is the daughter of Harmony's past governor , Governor Winthrop, so apparently Ivy and Sam would have been a scandal for Winthrop's place in office.

SHERIDAN CRANE
THE SECRET: Who was it that Sheridan "killed" when she was a little girl?
THE CLUES: When she was a little girl, Sheridan stabbed someone to their apparent death while sleepwalking. She doesn't remember who it was. Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald, the Crane housekeeper, seems to be keeping mum. Someone else was there that night (most likely her father, Alistar). Sheridan remembers having blood on her hands and remembers seeing someone being placed in a coffin. Shortly after the incident, the Cranes bought the Harmony Harold newspaper. Pilar's husband has been missing for many years. Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald believes the Cranes are responsible for his father's disappearance. Martin had worked for the Cranes prior to his disappearnace. Paloma Lopez-Fitzgerald has been living with her Aunt Marie Lopez for many years.
THE OBVIOUS ANSWER: Julian was about to do something to Martin Fitzgerald that caused Martin to beat up on him. Sheridan sleepwalks her way into the living room and stabs Martin. Pilar is forced to keep mum about this. Sheridan is sent to Paris. Alistar buys the town newspaper to cover up the incident and tells Pilar if she tells anyone she will lose her job. Paloma can't believe her mom would betray the family and stays with her aunt. Pilar knows something no one else knows - Martin never died…he's alive.
THE REAL ANSWER SO FAR: Pilar only heard Sheridan's screams "that night" about killing someone; Ethan also heard her, but was kept from seeing what was going on. The next day Sheridan was sent to be institutionalized in Paris (for what Julian and Alistair claim to have been bad dreams - come on, one night of nightmares does not make a person insane!!!). Antonio left because of the grief of losing his father. A man who claimed to have been Martin just recently died having holding Sheridan hostage and apparently had the scar that proves he was Martin, yet Pilar isn't convinced - so there is chance Sheridan truly kill Martin - but what if she actually killed Antonio (now there's your twist!!!)…oh and by the way, why doesn't Luis and Pilar just do fingerprints on the dead man? And FYI, the rumor mill places Paloma with her Aunt Marie, because she's actually not a Lopez-Fitzgerald. I'm sorry, but maybe this is for the best the way things are working out for the family as of late.

FATHER LONIGAN
THE SECRET: Does he fit into Grace Bennett's secret past?
THE CLUES: He is blind, due to a fire he was in many years ago. He seems close to Grace Bennett, who has amnesia from a Boston fire twenty years ago. Grace comes from a very religious background - just look at Faith Standish, her sister. Father Lonigan fears Grace is being plagued by evil. Faith believed Grace was being plagued by evil. Tabitha Lenox, the 300-year old witch claims Father Lonigan has been a thorn in her side for many years. Tabitha has been trying to destroy Grace and her niece Charity. Grace has been seeing visions of a little angelic girl. Father Lonigan has a statue that looks like the girl Grace sees. The statue comes alive and even is known to cry every now and then. The statue was in the same fire the priest was in all those years ago, but he brought it to his church in Harmony.
THE OBVIOUS ANSWER: Blind priest? Amnesiac woman? Both in a fire? Tabitha's been trying to destroy them both? Both connected to a statue that comes to life to protect the good? Do I really need to spell this one out to you?

***DISCLAIMER***
The previous set of questions are not meant to sound cynical, but rather point out some rather thoughtful side comments - which, yes, do in fact make fun of Passions, but when you think about it, isn't that really what Passions is doing to the soap genre? I say, hell yeah! I love Passions, but sometimes a show even this good has to be made fun of once in a while, and it might as well be by someone who loves it as much as I do. So, in other words, please don't think I'm anti-Passions, because that couldn't be farther from the truth. Thank you!
