![]() Rating out of five: 4 Pilar returns Sheridan's laundry, and thanks her for not letting Luis see Theresa at the ballet with Ethan, because he would have been upset. Sheridan tells Pilar that Luis was the most arrogant and unreasonable man that she had ever met. Pilar explained that Ethan was different from other guys his age, because he had to take on additional responsibilities when his father disappeared. Pilar sees a picture of Ethan and Theresa in the newspaper, and she doesn't want Luis to see it. Sheridan promises to confiscate the newspaper when she gets to the Youth Center. At the Youth Center, Luis is furiously hitting a punching bag. Hank walks in and states that he would hate to be the guy that Luis is thinking about. Luis tells him about Sheridan hitting him over the head with a bottle when he was trying to protect her from a mugger. He said that not only did the mugger get away, but that Sheridan had also cost him a promotion to Detective. He expressed again how much he hated the Cranes, and wished that they would all just disappear from the face of the earth. Sheridan appears, and he is not happy to see her. When Hank and Luis leave to put up equipment, Sheridan swipes the newspaper. Luis returns to his office and wants to know what Sheridan is up to. She hides the newspaper, and throws it in the trash before going out for coffee with Hank. Luis is looking all over for his paper, and finally finds it in the trash can. As he is reading the paper, Sheridan and Hank walk in and Sheridan screams " Oh No!" At the Crane house, Ethan tells Theresa that her eyes are exquisite. Gwen overhears this and is visibly upset. While they are having dinner, Gwen lets Ethan know how she felt hearing him talking to Theresa, and wants to know what Theresa means to him. Ethan says that Theresa means nothing to him. Theresa overhears and runs up the stairs crying. Pilar tells her that she needs to stop thinking about Ethan, and find someone of her own. Pilar shows her the picture from the paper, and they both hope that Luis doesn't see it. Pilar tells Theresa to go home. Ethan and Gwen are dancing, and he has a flashback of Theresa, and calls out her name. Gwen is angry and leaves. Theresa comes down the stairs, trips, and falls into Ethan's arms. Gwen is outside, and decides that she may have been to hard on Ethan, and decides to go back inside. When she opens the door, she sees Theresa and Ethan in what looks like an embrace. Whitney blows her early morning tennis practice and tells TC that she is just having an off day. TC informs her that Olympic hopefuls can't afford to have bad days. After TC leaves for work Whitney tells Theresa that she feels pressure to be perfect for her family and to protect them She thinks that Chad is a danger to family and vows to keep him away from Simone. Chad takes Miguel's advice and goes to apply for a job at the high school athletic program. He is surprised to find out that it means that he would be working for TC. Though Chad doesn't expect Whitney's father to give him anything TC sees a lot of himself when he was younger in Chad, and as long as Chad can make a commitment to TC for the time being the job is his. Though Chad sees any time spent in Harmony as time away from his music he makes the commitment to stick it out for awhile and takes the job. When Whitney gets to school she freaks when she runs into Chad. When he cockily informs her that he has a job their, Whitney says she's going to the principal to exposes him for the fraud that he is. She isn't nearly as arrogant when he informs her that TC is the person who he is working for. When Ivy wrongly assumes that Ethan and Gwen's romantic evening turned into a marriage proposal, Ethan is forced to admit to his mother that he angered Gwen by calling her Theresa when they were dancing. Not only are they now not engaged, but Gwen isn't even speaking to him. Ivy is upset, but Julian is amused he knew Ethan was attracted to Theresa. Julian laughs that Ethan is exacting exactly the way the Crane heir should. People like Theresa are there to serve the Cranes, in any capacity required. Ethan is surprised and disgusted by Julian's attitudes toward less financially fortunate people in general and is especially insulted by how Julian refers to Theresa in particular. He warns his father against saying things like that about Pilar's daughter. Ethan realizes that having spent all that time away from his family he doesn't really know them , and he doesn't like what he's finding out. As the girls prepare for Charity's first day of school Kay is furious to find the Charity is the proud new owner of the outfit Kay herself had wanted but Grace said they couldn't afford it. She is even more upset to find out that the money spent to provide Charity with a new wardrobe came from the money that Grace and Sam were saving to by Kay an used car. As far as Kay can see Charity is taking over her life and taking everything from her. At school Kay attempts to make sure Charity is scheduled to be in none of Miguel's classes, but Jessica beat her to the registrar's office, Miguel and Charity are in every class together. Kay is thrilled when Miguel invites her to the Halloween dance, and gloats about it to Miguel. Then Miguel mentions how he figured if her took Kay to the dance she could bring Charity and he could get closer to her. Kay tells Charity that the dance is basically an opportunity for all the kids to make out and scares Charity off, but her happiness is short lived because Jessica manages to convince Charity that Kay was mistaken, and Charity agrees to go to the dance. Gwen comes to the youth center to pour her heart out to Sheridan. She is convinced that Ethan has fallen for Theresa and doesn't love her anymore. Sheridan convinces Gwen that she is imagining things and should reconcile with Ethan. She calls the house and finds out that Ethan is at the country club and sends Gwen there to speak with him. Luis and Hank argue over Sheridan again. Luis is convinced that nothing good is going to come out of Hank's relationship with Ms. Crane. Luis tells Hank why it is that he blames the Crane's for his father's disappearance. Martin was on the phone with Alistair Crane the night before he disappeared. It didn't make sense that a Crane would call a man in his father's position, and Luis had planned to ask his father about it, but the next day Martin had disappeared. As far as Luis is concerned, the whole family is trouble. Sheridan overhears Luis bad mouthing her to Hank. When Theresa sees Ethan at the country club tennis courts she is delighted, until Ethan fires her on the spot. Theresa is devastated by the news and begs Ethan to tell her what she did wrong. Ethan tells her it isn't her fault and he can't go into anymore detail. Theresa's crying and begging for an explanation lead Ethan to soften and tell her that it's for her own good. He explains that he's learning things about his family that he doesn't want her exposed to, he cares and worries about her too much. He offers to get her a job at one of the Crane businesses, or to help her get a job assisting one of his mother's friends, but Theresa tells him that she must keep working with his mother, all her dreams are at the Crane mansion. She explains to a confused Ethan that at the Crane mansion she gets to see and experience the life she wants to live, and she tells him how important it is too her. Faced with Theresa's passion for her job Ethan relents and offers her the job back. An excited Theresa throws her arms around him and they hug, just as Gwen enters the country club.
