Rating out of five: 3.5

In the beginning: Bull-headed police officer, Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald was determined to set things right for his middle-class family as he was concerned of his mother, Pilar, who was working as a housekeeper for the rich and powerful Crane family in Harmony, New England. He tried to get his brother, Miguel a job, and tried to force his sister Theresa to wake up and realize her dreams of living in a life of luxury, like the Cranes whom she admired, would never come true. But the real troubles lurked at home when he told Pilar that the best way to be able to pay for their house, which was still in her husband's name, was to declare the long-lost man dead. Or at least realize he would never be coming home, and the best thing to do would be to get a divorce. Pilar however still had hopes of her husband being alive somewhere. (By the way, there's another Lopez-Fitzgerald out there somewhere as Luis' brother, Antonio has been missing for quite some time.)

Theresa wanted to one day marry the all-too-nice (and really bad actor, might I add) Ethan Crane, but discovered he already had a girlfriend, Gwen Hotchkiss. Ethan had been away from Harmony practically all his life, but now he was back and was going to get back into Julian, his father's business. Meanwhile in Paris, Sheridan Crane, Julian's younger sister, was being haunted by the fact that her good friend, Princess Diana had been murdered by the paparazzi two years ago just after she found true love. Sheridan feared the same would become of her, as their lives seemed to be so similar. This was a fact that was quickly becoming a reality as Sheridan was chased into the same tunnel Diana crashed in. Sheridan was rushed to the same hospital as Diana, as Gwen rushed to her side to comfort her. Meanwhile, Sheridan's criminal boyfriend, Jean Luc, seemed more interested in meeting up with his other girlfriend, Mimi. Sheridan luckily (and all too quickly) recovered from the accident with no broken bones or bruises as she realized it was due to her guardian angel, Diana. And back in Harmony, Julian became worried of the media attention. And Ivy Winthrop Crane, Julian's down to earth wife, became nervous when Sam Bennett, the town's newly elected Chief of Police was mentioned. Ethan wondered what the connection between the two was. Ivy was in deep thought about something (or someone - as in Sam) as she pulled out a necklace and listened to a song that somehow meant something very special to her.

Sam however, was growing more concerned with his wife, Grace's memory loss. He saved her from a fire in Boston over twenty years ago and she has never been able to recall the first twenty years of her life. But she had always been haunted by the voice of a little girl, and recently was able to see visions of her, which made her friend Dr. Eve Russell concerned for her well being. The little girl even caused Grace to fly out of her bedroom window in the middle of the night to join her by a swingset that didn't even exist - just to tell her evil was coming. The Bennett's neighbor, eccentric witch Tabitha Lenox was anxious as she realized the truth of her missing years may now be exposed for her own personal enjoyment. But the evil the little girl referred to was Tabitha as she cahsed her away with bees. Sam and Grace's daughters, Jessica and Kay were at each other's throat as Jessica threatened to expose Kay's feelings for Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald. And meanwhile the little girl Grace was seeing kept on disappearing making her husband concerned for her. Tabitha had her own plans involving Grace as she brought her doll, Timmy, to life.

But whatever Grace had gotten herself into in the past was catching up to her fast as even Tabitha was growing stronger in hopes of learning the full truth. After bringing Timmy to life, she presented the doll to Grace as a gift, but Grace was going to give it away as a prize at the annual Harmony Carnival. While at the Carnival, ready to set up, Grace had visions of her running from someone. And elsewhere in Castleton, New England, someone named Faith Standish looked at a picture of her supposed twin sister - Grace! Sam was busy meanwhile investigating deep into her past as he revealed to Luis that he never knew Grace's real name. But he had assumed Grace was her name after he pulled her out of the fire twenty years ago and saw a piece of paper with the name on it.

And it just so happened Theresa did end up meeting Ethan Crane, but she walked into a paint bucket on a ladder. She spun around and laughed at Ethan who grabbed her by the arm, wrecking her shirt that she was going to wear when she saw Ethan at the Carnival...oh if she only knew...
