1640 WQEL350 OH Middleburg Heights 5-21 2142 VP but atop T-storm QRM and traces of Disney on peaks. Strongsville OH information station. Meant of www.strongsville.org and other local stuff. There may be another TIS or 2 mixing in at times. Almost no Disney and no trace of WTNI in the array side nulls. New! NK-IL

I turned my Double KAZ around to null west and aim east by simply switching the ends that the feed xfmr and resistor are on. Now I have typically 30 dB nulls to the west and all that came in due west of me last night were KXEL and WHO and both of them are knocked way down about 30 dB below normal and QRMed at times. The west was nulled so well, that even though I could see lightning to the distant west, I barely had any static from it.
If weather cooperates I'll turn the other antenna around so I can use them as an array aiming due east. Of course line noise is an issue aiming at the powerlines, but last night seemed OK.

Started listening at 2358 only loud UNID country (George Jones Two Dollar Pistol (who that? )) but faded by TOH. No CW or tones for the DX Test. Possibly a sweep at 0003.
Did anyone catch a sweeper at 0018:00? Sounded like a ham tuning up, if that makes any sense.
EDIT: Just caught CW @0029!

Thanks for the reply, Bill. Nothing from 0258-0308, either. I did think at one time that I heard some sweeps but it was just someone talking, lol. GY stations will do that to you! Unlike last week*s (Seymour, TX) I also caught nothing ID*able. I did hear some Urban Contemporary which may have been, Evansville.

Tuned in from 0158-0210 and I did not hear anything resembling sweep tones or CW ID*s. Did it run? The Brookneal, VA GY DX Test was very loud and I had success with the Seymour, TX GY DX Test, so why not this one? Anyone?

After coaxing from a handful of DX*ers, I am counting KSEY 1230 TX DX test and this is ULR log #300! Now I know that a few DX*ers sped to 300 in just a few short days (or was it hours? lol) but mine has came over just a few hours of listening, per season. That being said, I have really added to my overall total since the ULR craze hit. Thanks to all!
This is my farthest GY catch (overall) by 4 miles, over another 1230, Lakeland, Florida, way back in 1991. It is only GY #5 for Ultralights.

Tried for thew KSEY 1230 DX Test. I did hear a few sweep and other tones but certainly not enough to count. Would have been one of my farthest GY stations. I tried with a Grundig S-350 and Eton e-100, both BF. I*m sure that if I had more antenna, it would have been easier but even Glenn Hauser had trouble with getting an ID and he is much closer. I did hear a new station on 1230, thanks to the test, WHOC, Sparta IL! I*m not much of a GY DX*er but heard much classic country and an ID at 0135 ET. This is ULR 299! Between the tones, WHCO and an unID talker, 1230 was fairly quiet.
#298 was WUMY 830 TN. They moved from Missouri and since it is further than 40 miles, I counted it. They were prolly not on their 2 watts night power, either. Thanks to Earl in St. Louis for the tip. They were blasting away WCCO the first night and the second, WUMY was alone. They are potent, in my direction.
Thanks for the tests but I*m 0 for 3. KBXD 1480, tried for but nothing and I think that I would have had more of chance with their night pattern / power, any way. Vicksburg 1490. prime time, too busy to try for,

21.47 ** -AM 1310 - Poor toward south with SS: mx and OM DJ. Might be WTIK; as Irecall, I think they're SS.
22.04 ** WEKY-AM 1340 Richmond, KY - Very poor toward south with oldies. Was able to // to Webcast.
22.22 ** WHLN-AM 1410 Harlan, KY - Faded in and out under WING with Hot AC mx, 'WHLN' jx between records.
22.26 ** WKYO-AM 130 Caro, MI - Faded in and out with oldies, 'Oldies 1360.' Was able to get match to wx forecast at 2304. Rare catch!
Not the best cx in the world, but still wondering who that 1350 with ABM could have been. I've determined that it probably wasn't WOAM or KRNT, as it was strongest toward the SSW, while toward the west it was mostly WOYK, with no trace of ABM. No ideas.
