  
Welcome too the Metal Church, please be seated.. This album is Metal Church's first, self titled and the best they have ever made.But first alittle about the band, It all started in Kent, Washington in 1981, Metal Church became a force to be reckoned with in the world of metal and gave more notice to the metal bands that came out of Seattle. The members of the band include,Kurdt Vanderhoof: guitar, Kirk Arrington: percussion, Craig Wells: guitar, Duke Erickson:bass, and David Wayne: vocals.
The sound from these five masters of metal is gut wrenching and powerful, on the verge of thrash this album makes any priest kneel and pray. Progressive guitars and ripping flesh vocals make it the best ever. The first track goes by the name of "Beyond The Black" witch in my point of view should be inducted in the metal hall of fame, a great tune witch the lyrics explan the coming of the end of the world by the war of wars. The precussions and guitars are finamial, hats off to these guys for making such an awesome tune.
The Church also makes killer instermentals, speaking of the third track on the album,"Merciless Onslaught", writen by Vandrhoof, the double guitar riffs just ripp my soul aprart and then shread it to hell. a beautyful writen tabliture and drum section, a true metal master if I have ever heard one, a must see to understand what I mean..Those are just the first few tracks on the album there are 9 to be exact and the ninth is a cover tune origanly made by Deep Purple, "Highway Star" witch is a killer remake of the great classic song,it has a much faster beat and totally grinding guitars that put the origanl too shame.
The album is on Elektra Records and Digitaly recored, so the sound is of great quality. I would diffently recomend this album for all you metal heads out there in web land, because Metal Church is one of the founding fathers of speed metal and thrash. The band has been broken up for afew years now but I hear they are getting back together to do somemore jammin, so I will keep you updated if they come out with a new album.
